That dutch architecture you mentioned in the tags of the Station Zaandam post, that hotel is based on the traditional style and paint color of the Zaan region

You can see a couple pictures of such houses on the wikipedia article for Zaandijk (a village) and the hotel itself is called Inntel-Hotel Zaandam. They only have pages in dutch (and I would link them but asks don't support that) but worth checking out!
