one of the things I like about the Big Finish audios is how it blatantly disregards the "no nonsense" thing. like, what do you mean River immediately clocked that Ten missed Donna and her being gone is what made him so reckless? no man good enough for my Donna? the only happy ending for Donna is if it's with the Doctor? Ten/Donna fake marriage? the unnecessary smooches? Donna calling him the love of her life then realizing in real time that he actually is?

Even RTD, the ultimate R0se glazer who completely ruined her character by his complete inability to hold her accountable for anything or let her change and grow, said that his ending with giving her a photocopied ten was forced (and utterly stupid. my words.)

And after he made up that stupid forced scenario to try and make his otp canon (or something. Because honestly the fact that it was treated as interchangeable that R0se would go with a clone who is catered to her whims is what truly and completely made the ship unsalvageable to me) RTD literally came back all these years later and made the actual, real Doctor, who is not convolutedly made human, come home to Donna and heal and deal with his trauma.

And this is not saying RTD is word of god, quite the opposite that man is horrible, but EVEN he knows his original ending was absolute buns tenr0se copium.

Like, RTD is the ultimate vapid tenr0se shipper and even he pretty much redid his stupid tent00r0se ending except its Donna and the real actual Doctor. So. R0se didn't love him for who he actually is, and the idea of a version of the tennant doctor healing with her is stupid because they're a horrible match. And she's actually awful to and for him, Because she's awful to everyone and never once has her come to Jesus moment because RTD is incapable of treating her like any other character.

I'm saying all this because I just saw somebody say "tent00 is the best tennant doctor, that's why he got R0se!1! ☺️"

...Like two posts away from talking about how fourteen came home to Donna to heal???????? And that was the true ending where he could heal, UNLIKE what originally happened????????????

And idc that it was talking about actual ten and not tent00, because there's just no way that tent00 could actually heal with Rose.

This is why it's so unbelievably stupid to me when people talk about the doctor and donna being platonic soulmates (soulmates!!!) but "STRICTLY PLATONIC AND IF YOU THINK ANYTHING ELSE YOURE STUPID AND EVIL AND HATE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS #MYPLATONIC #YOUHATEPLATONICLOVEIFYOUSHIPTHEMLOL" because 9/10 times they're actually tenr0se shippers who would take the doctor away from Donna FOREVER without a second thought to how they are meant to be together forever (in whatever sense) so that they can SHIP HIM ROMANTICALLY WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

DO NOT come to me and talk about "platonic soulmates why do you ship those two why can't you appreciate their m/f friendship 😞" when in two seconds you can turn around and break them apart because you want to ship him romantically with someone else. When you JUST SAID that the doctor and donna are soulmates. platonic soulmates. but you think it's better for him to have a romantic relationship with someone else than to stay with his platonic soulmate. okay.

Like sorry, but they ARE soulmates. We JUST agreed on that. Romantic or platonic or BOTH (what I think). The doctor and donna are SOULMATES. And you're coming after me for wanting them to be together forever as whatever kind of soulmates when you would call them platonic soulmates but then break them apart without a second thought to ship him with someone else romantically?

And yes, I know that this is a scenario I've invented in my head and there's not some huge conspiracy to break up my otp. And probably no one actually thinks like this, nuance. I highly doubt this is what the person who I am frustrated with meant to convey. I'm JUST FRUSTRATED. IT'S FRUSTRATING.

Like in the same breath saying that what he needed to heal was to come home to his Donna and then saying R0SE is the best possible outcome for him because Romance. And people don't get upset over that but people squick themselves into oblivion about me liking doctordonna as romantic partners as well as soulmates. Argh.

Like... just don't.

The tent00 ending is SO STUPID that even RTD redid an actual happy ending for his favorite Doctor (which is a whole other thing) because the only happy ending for him is with Donna. And let's all be completely real here, there's no place for R0se T. in that happy ending because she is far too jealous to EVER be okay with what the Doctor and Donna have, and all she has ever wanted out of the Tennant Doctor is romance. It is so antithetical to the idea of platonic love being as valuable as romantic love to think that the weak sauce forced tent00r0se ending is in any way equivalent to the fourteendonna ending, and Rose as a character is prettymuch antithetical to that too since ever since he regenerated into ten the only thing she cared about was getting his romantic love. no regard for all of the love that happens outside of a romantic relationship, no love shown by valuing and respecting his feelings, she only cares about him giving her romance, otherwise he's worthless to her.

Doctor Who season 4 is so delightful because you can tell that The Doctor, on occasion, straight up forgets that he's sad and burned because he's busy being in a sci-fi buddy comedy. And then something will remind him and he'll be like oh! I'm sad and burdened! And Donnas almost always there to be like 'hi sad and burdened. I'm Donna' and he has a completely proportional reaction like 'i would die a thousand deaths for you'.
