i had a meet n greet with the anaesthesiologist for my top surgery and he said it’s his favourite procedure to work on because everyone who wants it is just so truly happy to be there, and i can’t stop thinking about this career that is 99% attending to various sadnesses miseries and woes and 1% having funny little dudes in dangerfield buttonups throwing themselves on the operating table like YEEHAW LET’S GOOOO

i don’t normally add to people’s posts, but i’m an OR nurse who specializes in gender affirming surgery, and this is totally correct. when we bring the patient into the OR we always ask them what surgery they’re having (to make sure there are no oopsies) and more often than not, my top surgery patients will say “YOU’RE CUTTIN’ THESE BITCHES OFF” or “YOU’RE GONNA YEET THE TEATS” and i know i have the best job in the world.

genuine thoughts on good omens 3 (spoilers under the cut)

i'm generally more on the positive side of it. i don't necessarily think that it was the perfect ending, but it was THEIR (crowley and aziraphale's) perfect ending. crowley and aziraphale intentionally made the choice to die and get rid of the old universe for the sake of humanity's free will. they understand the corruption of heaven and hell, so they know how much mess they made on earth. and they were happy choosing that! i don't think that it was out of place for them to come to that decision – their love for humanity is a central theme in the entirety of the book/show. it has what had driven the story forward, and it's something that was heavily emphasized throughout. i think it was a beautiful tribute to humanity.

do i think that they loved humanity so much to the point they became human? no. i interpret asa and anthony as manifestations of their love for each other, not really them in human form. their existence shows how they find each other in every universe. their love is so strong that they always manage to return to each other. nothing keeps them apart anymore unlike before where they were tied to heaven/hell, so they can love each other fully without any constraints. i'd like to think that in every century, there's a crowley and aziraphale out there who find each other. that's pretty darn beautiful to me.

as for my negative thoughts... i really feel like it should have ended with them dismantling heaven and hell. that way, they could truly be together forever and humans get proper free will. (i might even consider writing a six-episode screenplay...) i would've liked to see them make a new universe in the bookshop with the empty books to write on. this also ties in with how when they perform miracles together, it works "a little too well"; i think that part in season two got looked over and it would be nice if we saw them doing more miracles together. i also would've wanted a hug but that’s it.

i don’t think that we needed a kiss either. they’re canonically asexual and they just… don’t need it. honestly their love transcends physical touch because of how deep it is. i’ve already made a post about this so you can go read that if you wanna hear my thoughts on it

HOWEVER. i completely understand people who are upset at the ending because it means that they're technically dead. i really do believe that crowley and aziraphale are out there together, wherever they go after being erased from existence. i think they're watching humanity grow and grow from there. and maybe they created their own universe there. who knows? i genuinely don't believe that they're GONE gone. we just can't feel their presence.

in general, though, i found it rushed and paced weird. but that’s something that i expected from the condensing of six episodes into a 90-minute special. it’s something that honestly couldn’t have been avoided. i think they could have shortened the bentley and jesus plot lines to make more room for crowley and aziraphale’s story. this may change with time, but i found michael being the villain very out of place. i think they could’ve had another storyline to make it make more sense. i found the comedy really funny! jesus saying “bless YOU 😇” had me ROLLINGGGG. the scenes of crowley and aziraphale were all so funny. david and michael did amazing as usual and they truly gave it their all. i’m so satisfied with their performances like you could really tell that they didn’t wanna let it go

overall, i don't think it was perfect exactly, but it was still amazing. the team truly did the best they could to end it on a satisfying and it shows. i'm so grateful to everyone on the go team who helped give our faves a proper ending

OH ALSO idk if there are sides on this, but in a hypothetical potentially real debate over “they should’ve kissed on the lips” vs. “the ‘kiss’ we got was perfect” i LOVED the one we got i think it was so so intimate in its own special way

i agree with you! i don’t see crowley and aziraphale as kissers— to me, their love is romantic but not really sexual. aside from them being canonically asexual, i think it’s shallow and acephobic to view love as entirely acts of intimacy and physical touch. their love is so deep that they don’t need all that. the kiss that we got was beautiful and i’m satisfied with it (but i do think that we could’ve at least gotten a hug like that would’ve been so sweet)

hiiiii reporting back with my finale thoughts!! overall i enjoyed it!! i feel like the main weakness was pacing, but obviously considering the circumstances, i don’t know how that could’ve been avoided and i’m just glad we got something to conclude the show. i really really really enjoyed jesus 😭 like he was so nice and sweet and his voice gave me jack wolfe vibes (i may just be obsessed with hadestown). i haven’t interacted with much content yet but i did see that a lot of people are divided on the ending and the fact that the only endgame we got was the human au. i feel like i definitely haven’t thought about it as much as some people, but to me, i thought it was sweet to see how they would find each other in any universe, especially after we saw them throughout the rest of the series finding each other throughout time in so many different circumstances. but obviously the version of them that we have grown to love didn’t get their happy ending….which is sad and i can definitely see why people aren’t a fan of that. but overall i just love the actors and what they bring to these roles and they really just embody the characters and do them such justice, so even if people think everything else is trash, at least we got to see crowley saunter down the street a few more times bc god knows when david tennant is going to get to bring that same energy to a role again sjdjsjsj

so glad to hear that you enjoyed it! the pacing was a big issue but it was something that i expected given the amount of time they had to conclude the story. jesus was amazing!! he does sound like jack now that you mention it 😭😭 i hear it too now!! david and michael were absolutely fantastic in this. they carried those 96 minutes on their BACKS. i also thought it was great. loved how the ending showed how their love is so powerful that they find each other in every universe no matter the circumstances. i really feel like people are hating too strongly on it. like rachel literally had to lock her twitter account because people were being so rude to her. i think that the ending could have been better but the team 100% did their best at making it. i’m just happy we got an ending at all, honestly, given how amazon initially wanted to cancel the show entirely. i’m glad that the last time we see crowley and aziraphale wasn’t gonna be the final fifteen. not saying the ending is perfect, but people need to calm down. most people i’ve seen are really upset so i’m happy that you’re not 💀
