High Tea ~ Kitty & Wylan
wylnpeaks
It wasn’t the easiest feeling he’d ever experienced, forgiveness. And not his own but Kitty’s. He’d done something awful to one of the kindest souls he’d ever known and that sort of thing took time to heal no matter what they meant to one another. He’d left a note asking for her to come meet him in Hogsmeade at the tea shop. He had no intention of ever setting foot in this place but something like this deserved a decent gesture. But a gesture for what? He didn’t even know what to call her or them. They weren’t together but the incident with Han proved, at least to Wylan, that they weren’t just friends either. He wasn’t even sure that was something he could even ask her at this point.
Wylan made it a little early to the shop and propped himself up against the front of the building. His foot against the building, arms folded against his chest clutching the string of a package tight. There were a lot of what ifs floating through his mind but there was always the constant, as she’d been there from … well almost from the beginning really. He sighed softly, resting his back to the building as well. He’d almost wished they’d have walked down together but as always he had to grab his package of art supplies from home. Hopefully his mom sent along something for the two of them later on.
Life was, complicated. Everything had seemed so easy and simple with Wylan by her side no matter what. Their feud, if you could call it that, didn’t make her uneasy but raised questions. Made her doubt what she thought she’d known. The invitation for tea only confused her more. She’d consulted with her dorm mates as to what to wear, how she should act but in reality the second the teashop came into view everything was forgotten. Nothing really mattered because no matter what, they’d always be best friends first. Wylan was her other half irregardless of arguments or jealousy. He was waiting outside, looking like a fool hanging around under the awning but if Kitty was being honest with herself it only made him all the more endearing. “You’re here early,” she remarked quietly, a soft mirthful smile forming on her lips. She did enjoy a good tease. Made it easier to distract from the way her cheeks tended to get pink in his presence.
“So…” Kitty made her way to the teashop door and gently pushed it open. “Going inside?” She did wonder exactly why he’d invited her out here, when she knew full well this wasn’t the sort of place that Wylan would voluntarily step foot in. It was her usual weekend escape with Han. Only it was very different with him. They read tea leaves and talked about school. Wylan was different. “Did you get something from home?” She asked as they were shown to a table. It was particularly frilly inside, the smell of freshly steeped tea and baked cakes strong. Everything was familiar and welcoming, but she could see why Wylan would find it uncomfortable. She had a thousand questions she wanted to ask. Only, one or two really mattered but on those accounts Kitty couldn’t bring herself to say anything. She dipped her head and tried to conceal her flushed cheeks with the menu, deep in thought over whether to get a herbal tea or not.
