Wendy and Jade had been through quite a lot in the prison world, but being back in this world? Well it had to be HARD. There was a lot to adjust to, and Hope didn’t want Wendy to think that she didn’t care. Even with everything else going on around them, Hope was here. “I figured maybe you could use a milkshake? Some time out of the school?”

❝  Are  you  saying  you  want  to  get  milkshakes  with  me ?  ❞    Her tone of surprise was obvious. It was involuntary. Not for it coming from Hope, mostly for no other reason that it was happening at all. The other girl was probably just being nice, she thought, Wendy basically had no one after being back, so maybe that’s the reason behind the invitation.    ❝  Sure  !  I  do  want  some  time  out ...  ❞    Still, she’d accept it, Wendy needed a moment like this.

Unsurprisingly, there was another roll of eyes after hearing his line.    ❝  Of  course.  Do  you  have  any  special  request  ?  ❞    She faked a nice attitude that simply wasn’t present in the moment. She would probably forgive him eventually, but Wendy would hardly be able to trust him. There was no reply coming from her, but his next question made her think.   ❝  Are  you  lonely  ?  Is  that  what  this  is  about  ?  ❞    He was right though. She didn’t have someone to lean on at the moment, and that scared her so much, she wasn’t used to it, Wendy didn’t know how to deal with not having people around her.    ❝  And  can  I  lean  on  you  ?  ❞    Her tone was more serious now, lower. There was no teasing or irony behind her words anymore.

She looked at the third girl present from the corner of her eyes. Wendy didn’t went far to try having an actual conversation with her, she could be easily irritated and the both witches would probably end up having strong disagreements. So far, Wendy had no problem with her.    ❝  Oh  really ? I  don’t  know which  one’s  more  annoyed  by  the  other.  ❞    She scoffed.    ❝  That,  if  you  don’t  die  first.  You  know  you  can  die  now  too,  right ?  ❞

They stayed in that prison world for too long and it was hard to move on and adjust. However, the thought of staying at the school didn’t feel she was moving on. Wendy wasn’t a vampire like her friend, she was going to age and have a much shorter life. She was scared.

When she mentioned what’s real previously, Wendy was referring to real life that people live in, with no deeper meaning behind it. But that was not what he wanted to hear, she thought to herself.    ❝  Does   anyone  knows  what’s  real  ?  This  entire  talk  could  not  be  real,  you  could  actually  not  be  existing  right  now,  which  kind  of  leads  to  what  I  said  about  us  living  in  our  own  world,  because  some  people  only  believe  that  what’s  inside  their  head  is  real.  But  is  it  real  if  only  one  person  can  see  it  this  way  ?  I  don’t  think  so.  I  think  reality  is  not  relative,  there’s  one  truth,  even  if  some  people  can’t  realize  it,  or  if  we’re  never  able  to  know  what  it  is.  ❞    She paused, now starring into his eyes.    ❝  But  you  know  what  I  meant  by  real  before.  ❞

Ella offered an understanding smile as she let the young witch process what she’d just said and let her get a handle on her emotions. Ella wasn’t looking for an apology for the anger or the yelling, she simply waited patiently for a response if Wendy was going to give one. “Yes, I can see that. Unfortunately, Ric has not felt the need to explain much about the prison world and the magic. I was more concerned with the possibility that you might age the ten years once outside of it, I am sure you can understand why that is not a concern for Jade.” Ella had some serious words for Ric, and though he tried to play his hand and act cool, Ell hadn’t allowed it. If he wanted to fire that was fine, but with what was to come and the fact that he was human, he needed all the help he could get.

“Be that as it may, I still said something careless and I apologize.” She replied with a slight bow of her head. She tilt her head slightly as she looked over Wendy, taking in any emotions she might be able to pick up- magic had it perks at time when you were also a supernatural psychologist. “I doubt that this would be something you would want to talk about with me, but if you want to talk about what happened, or if you have trouble adjusting to the time difference, my door is always open so to speak. If you have any questions as well, I will gladly answer them.” The irony that she was saying that to someone else, someone technically older, was not lost on her. It was also ironic that she was one of the only people who could understand what it was like to be trapped somewhere with no knowledge of the rapidly developing world, and having to adjust to it. 

“I also know being at the school can be a little overwhelming as well, so if you need some time off the campus I can arrange it.”

She hasn’t thought about aging after coming back. As far as she was aware, she’d simply start to age as any other witch, being in the prison world felt as if her life was in a pause, and before giving much thought about the subject Ella brought up, it was as if that was also pausing.    ❝  I’ll  figure  it  out.  I  know  I’m  not  the  only  witch  that  has  been  in  a  prison  world.  I’ll  be  fine,  thanks  for  your  concern.  ❞

That was one conversation she definitely wasn’t in the mood to be in, and she probably never would. Talking about it with Jade who went through it with her ? That was fine. But Ella, who was someone Wendy met when she was only a child and now was a psychologist ? Wendy didn’t need that. She had her ego so fragile, that those type of actions coming from professionals of the school felt like pity, or that they were treating her like one of the troubled students, using what they had learned to get into her, and she did not appreciate it.    ❝  You’re  right,  I  don’t  want  to  talk  about  it  with  you,  I  am  not  one  of  your  students,  Ella.  ❞    

Staying at the Salvatore School, at first, wasn’t her intention. There was no reason for her to want to stay there, except for adjusting to the new world. She had no one now, and she was aware that it would be harder to try and move on by herself.    ❝  Thank  you,  ❞    She forced a smile.     ❝  When  I  feel  overwhelmed,  when  I  need  to  get  out  of  here,  I’ll  be  sure  to  go  right  to  you  to  ask  for  permission.  ❞
