I recently finished Apollo Justice and all I can think about is how Phoenix inherited Mia’s “figure it out” dialogue

the problem with how people characterize narumitsu is that they only see them as the grumpy and the sunshine ship dynamic, so they end up writing phoenix as a golden retriever and miles as an old gay queen.

but like, phoenix is such a bitch. the bitchiest bitch that ever bitched, actually. he enjoys sarcasm and trash talking, but he has this thing called "situational awareness", so he knows not to behave like a massive cunt in front of people involved in a murder investigation

on the other hand miles gets easily flustered and his fight or flight response to being caught off guard is spitting a venomous comeback. but in his head he's making puns. he's thinking about how the plants are beautiful. he's like an easily spooked horse who is also a dork that gets into a staring contest with a dog. and then loses

Also I see some people ( and aa devs ) characterize Miles as heartless and emotionless or like his allergic to smiling while his sprites are very expressive and Is frequently seen smiling after 1-4 , I get that his defult sprite has a resting bitch face but I have seen people ( myself included) that might seem cold or angry on defult but thier face changes drastically when they're happy, sad or angry . Overall he's very forward with his thoughts and feelings

On the other hand if there's anyone who would hide their true feelings and read you to filth without telling it to your face it's Phoenix Wright

i do think the "dark age of the law" thing in dual destinies was perhaps the stupidest thing imaginable. why's everyone suddenly freaking out about corruption in the courtroom. do you think manfred von karma got that forty-year win streak out of nowhere. do you think miles edgeworth got HIS win streak out of nowhere. do you think damon gant's control over Fucking Everything came out of nowhere. do you think furio tigre's ability to masquerade as a defense attorney and nobody saying a damn thing about it came out of nowhere. do you think franziska von karma holding up a photograph and being like "i know this picture is illegal but what are you gonna do? Unsee it? <3" came out of nowhere. The three-day "guilty until proven innocent" trial system. The sheer sway prosecutors held over the entirety of the court, up to and including shit like being able to assault the judge and opposing defense attorney with zero consequences + tailoring witness testimony to suit their case and threatening said witnesses if they said anything too revealing. Hello. Can anyone hear me. I'm going nuts

Ema: "Where to first? Your favorite bookstore's still open. Or it's late enough, we could try this bar I like."

Lana: "What?"

Ema: "What?"

Lana: "Go to the bar? You can't drink."

Ema: "I'm 25. Did you forget?"

Lana: "Oh. I did."

The point of view has pulled back, so the reader sees Lana and Ema through the front windshield of the car. Lana has her eyes closed and her face in her hands. Ema puts a hand on Lana's shoulder to comfort her.

Apollo and Klavier get their shit together before Phoenix and Edgeworth do. Apollo takes one look at that sad slowburn romance Phoenix and Edgeworth got going on and thinks to himself "yeah I don't want that" and pulls Klavier down into a kiss or something.
