Verse 4 onwards especially fits the ending of act 2, I believe. Especially the "hold the hand of the god-child, as he falls from the sky" being in reference to the weaver queen ending....

This verse in particular— "Little memories, marching on Your little feet, working the machine Will it spin, will it soar My little dream, working the machine" —fits her undying devotion to Hifumi (how much of her identity she stakes in being his granddaughter!) and her fruitless efforts to carry out his dreams SCARILY well in my opinion.

Both halves of the song represent the two really well. the first half fits tessa's loneliness and her desire to find companionship and comfort amidst her abusive upbringing, and I interpret her clinging to J (+ the other drones) as a sort of emotional crutch for that. the second half of the song fits J's desire to be needed and her close attachment to tessa. in the end their relationship falls apart due to circumstances beyond their control
