16 hours over the span of 3 days…it is done.

I was looking through old stuff and back in 2018 I used to picture Shizuo as a Shiloh Shepherd in my dog AU

It's not so bad as an alternative. I might shift between that and Leonberger depending on mood. Izaya has stayed as a Kai Ken since day one

Trying to think for a dog breed for Simon is kinda tough because I have possible ideas but can't fully visualize them. So far I have:

-Saint Bernard

-Caucasian Shepherd

-Central Asian Shepherd

And meanwhile also wanting to think on one for Kadota but my head is literal white noise. Golden retriever vibes but with a breed that visually fits better but still a big dog? Leonberger and Saint Bernard were options but also wanted to pick something different from others. Maybe a German Shepherd mix? But no reference convinces me either

I need to know what kind of dog izaya would be because I’m going insane

Great point with Izaya because it's hard not to imagine him as a black cat. Buuuut, and as I always say, if I HAD to pick a dog breed for him, to me it's always been the Kai Ken

I always imagined he would have the looks of a japanese breed, with the curled tail and small perked up ears, I think that's the shape I always imagine would fit him better.

Akitas and Shibas never convinced me though, especially by their coat colors that were all too bright. Same with the Hokkaido. But the Kai Ken... it's jackpot! It has the overall looks and forms of those breeds I picture but also is medium sized, very agile, I read somewhere they are good climbers too (don't take my word, I can't remember where I read it or how true it might be but I'm sticking to that for obvious reasons) and comes in dark colors which was my main goal!

The slight brindle over black would be a nice touch but still something I would maybe make too faint if I had to draw it. Maybe the kind that you only notice under direct sunlight. Or maybe keep it, idk. And I would give him a tuft of white on the chest for no reason perhaps.

But that has just been my personal take for him for too long. You gave me the perfect excuse to share it yay! I'm curious though if anyone ever imagined a different breed for him, or for any characters I share, I love hearing other opinions too.

Random Durarara ideas, as per usual. It's Rokujou Chikage's turn

Because of the gang's symbolism with a tiger, I like to think he'd have at least a slight brindle coat like a Dutch shepherd's but I feel for his hair he'd look better with fluffy floppy ears instead of erect ones

So I don't think he would look exaaactly like this, especially tweaking the colors, but in shape and coat length I lean for something like this. I'll have to illustrate that someday though but something about the head feels right
