Do you see the vision
it should be illegal to make me work on world eel day when I could be lurking in an estuary or perhaps writhing
At first I thought this was "world eel" in terms of a version of the world serpent creation myth but now I have An Idea
barrel bonding!
Comm'd this under a different username but now that they're here I can send these two tumblering down the hill
heard writing advice somewhere that you don't need a lore bible if you're one person working on a project and I just do not think that's true. I will be looking through this shit and thinking "that's really cool I forgot that worked that way" like you are extremely susceptible to forgetting neat little details you came up about your world
They don't even need to be well written nobodies going to look at them but you. It's like writing an outline or putting together character details most of the labor is coming up with the ideas and that work is kinda wasted if you dont put it somewhere
I don't need to hit a word count, lest it feel like some kinda school assignment. Why should I add more to prove I'm "properly" exploring my point? It's gonna be fluff and we both know it! Nay, here the readers will be exposed to brief tidbits as they come to mind and therefore relevance, all with a numerical unit measurement of FOOTNOTES to spill the extra but unnecessary beans in the back.
you're talking about this like it's something the audience is going to see when it's literally just meant to be a useful reference guide for the writer to keep their world building organized. I like to have a rough timeline of important events so that when I write characters I know what they would've been doing when things happen. I never even wrote dates into my actual script even though I have them
also it's a little rich for you to talk about fluff based on the way your talking here
I realized I misinterpreted the original post as advocating the necessity for a 'lore bible' over other methods. It'd probably be useful to me too given my hot mess of not-organization.
And yeah that sure deteriorated into a fluff post, I lost my point when I was writing this at 2am. Hoo hoo!

Yk the DND writers were famous for adding all sorts of horny sexual elfs to the game but I never see people slobbering over Drow matriarchs punishing their unruly consorts. People REALLY wanna fuck kobolds tho.
I've been in multiple d&d campaigns with cishet white guys and invariably whenever the drow or the city of brass or any inherently d/s concept is introduced they all fall over each other to offer to go on 'solo recon missions' of enemy territory then look to their cishet white dm with big puppy eyes waiting for the descriptors of the eight foot tall whip-wielding drow mommy without an ounce of self reflection
That's gay as fuck they should be fucking the diminutive bottom heavy lizards.
dragon who probably would have eaten that human but it turns out she’s actually super useful. the hatchlings love her and she gives fantastic massages so really it would be a shame

Settlement idea: a forest village built upon a wild magic zone, to discourage the use of spells that might have adverse effects to the folks living there (stealing, etc.)

Reminder to the scp fandom:
If you don’t support lgbtqia+, you’re not an scp fan.
I mean, I don’t make the rules… Oh wait, yes I do.
So if you are homophobic, transphobic, commit bi erasure, belive that ace people are not part of the community, or any of that other bullshit…
Well.
SCP is not for you.
Bye!
Being an SCP fan has nothing to do with having to support someone's sexuality. They are fans because they enjoy the content that is produced by it. I see a lot of posts saying "you're not a fan if you don't support X ideals" and it is especially tiresome when those ideals have absolutely nothing to do with the fandom itself.
