Poor Father, it’s all making your stamina worse? That’s… Hm. That’s a bit worrisome, but please - if it’s bothering you right this second, I might suggest you come inside, my back room has the materials needed to get a humidifier going. In that meantime, I could prepare some oregano tea for you. Drinking that a few times a day should relieve the tightening of your airway.

“Of course.” Dogma wasn’t much of one for disturbing people, especially the Doctor who at times seemed to be more happy in a state of distraction. He looked oddly peaceful, something that even as oblivious as he was would prefer to not disrupt.

An eyebrow was cocked as he closely watched Kantera’s expression, he looked concerned. Was his condition truly that poor? Maybe he should have listened to Cody and spoke up sooner.

“If the words of Russell are to be believed, yes. I would appreciate that greatly Kantera, it is kind of you to be able to prepare things like this on a whim.”

Upon seeing the younger man pass by, Yumi flashed him a smile. It wasn’t often that she saw the priest out and about in town – even if he was actually outside, it was only to do business in other towns or Russell had dragged him around. It was a sight for sore eyes. 

“ Howdy, Dogma! S’been a while since we last talked, huh? “ Yumi chuckled, stuffing her hands into her pockets. “ I wouldn’t mind sittin’ down for a chat. I’ve been wanting to talk to ya recently too … Jes’ didn’t get the time to do so. “

“You... wanted to speak to me?”

Oh goodness, he certainly hoped nothing was amiss. Well, there maybe was that time that the statue broke. Or he was out at horrible hours of the morning trying to clean the outer windows of the church and failing greatly at it. Huh, he hoped that he hadn’t done anything wrong. Wait, why was he even jumping to these conclusions before she even spoke?

“Of course, would you prefer to do so indoors or is the outside a suitable environment for such?”

“Cody, I’m burning to death.” [well you said to send you one.]

Cody ran to her brother in a desperate attempt to put out the flames that might've consumed his body by then. She swiftly cast water upon her brother in the form of a bucket.

Judging by the lack of familiar feeling arising, he easily deduced that it was not Russell who came to visit., and when the sight of priestly clothing soon came into view, the blonde’s signature smirk rose to his lips.

     >>> 🔪 ;; “Although, I must say that it’s quite…odd to see you outside of the church so early in the morning. I don’t suppose that something happened?”

“Ironic that you would ask.” Crimson eyes glared, meeting those of the green hue as he spoke. The Informant was a shady one, someone he wanted to be around as little as possible. It was disturbing how much he looked like Russell, yet their personalities were day and night from each other. The blonde before him always gave off an unsettling aura, he had half a mind to grasp the cross draped around his neck but that may just worsen the matter. Maybe a bit of holy water could be arranged next time.

“There is a particular statue within the church. I don’t know why exactly but it disturbs me now that it broke just before facing the Burying One in Darcover. They look... alike. I can’t get anything out of Russell about it, as he keeps evading the subject.”

Gardenia was probably the most bubbly and light-hearted person in the town regardless of the events that seemed to be occurring in rapid succession. Dogma had just planned to request a simple lunch from her since he needed to clean the church again today, but maybe talking to her a bit while he waited wouldn’t hurt. Well, that was if she was even in today rather than that strange girl with wings in her hair that managed the shop from time to time.

The priest knocked out of courtesy before entering the oddly vegetable shaped home. “Gardenia, I hope you don’t mind the sudden visit. The crops seem to be disappearing quickly and I thought I could maybe request a bit of a lunch from you.”

Dogma seemed to be picking up a habit more and more lately of losing himself to his thoughts. Not that such was inherently a bad thing, but none of the thoughts were well, good. He couldn’t shake the feeling of unease after fighting against The Burying One at all. He couldn’t help but wonder if Cody felt similarly or just why exactly this happened while he was simply preforming a funeral service in Darcover.

So much so that it made him nearly fall into the fountain he had chosen to eat lunch by upon noticing Russell. Goodness, did that boy always move so silently?

“I- Russell. Good afternoon. Sorry for not noticing you there. Did you need something?”

Dogma liked to consider himself at least somewhat friendly with most of the townspeople but Yumi was one of those who simply continued to be a mystery to him. With Cody having ran off again with Russell  to do er... something, maybe today would be a good day to remedy the fact. Having finished his daily prayer, Dogma headed out for the day. Lucky enough for him Yumi seemed to be on one of her daily walks to assure the safety of the town.

“Ah! Yumi, if you do have a bit after your patrol today, would you perhaps have time for a bit of a talk? Nothing is wrong, I just wanted to perhaps get to know you better.”

Sometimes he truly did feel as if he ceased to be around some of the more distracted people of the town.

“Worry not, I assumed that you would find time for me when you were ready. I wished to ask you if you still have more of the medicine for my asthma from a bit ago. I fear going on various excursions with Russell has worsened my stamina again.”

“Please forgive me, Miss Yumi, but that is perhaps the exact reason I do worry for you. I- suppose if you are that confident however I have no reason to distrust you. Just please be careful. Things haven’t been the most normal here lately.”

He wasn’t going to address that sometimes he felt his advice flew over her head. Dear God, please keep her from destroying everything and herself in the process.
