thanks to @thatbugkidd proposing the idea of Cyn being a hybrid if there was a Beastars AU with MD... got carried away & was only stopped by a migraine LOL

[Long post. This is her lore, what did you expect?]
Originally, I was working on a project entitled "The White Dwarf"
"White Dwarf and its Orbiter" [unfinished painting]
This was supposed to be a series of digital paintings telling the story of Scrap Ballora (I was hoping to make a comic at first).
This story happens after Ennard leaves Michael's body and escapes into the sewers. Ballora ejects herself out of the pile of wires, and a few days later, Circus Baby was forcibly ejected.
Ballora previously showed she had consciousness just like Circus Baby (not implying any form of possession here). Interestingly, none of the Funtimes had the capacity to contradict the "kill kids and collect remnants" programming William Afton gave them, but they still had highly advanced AIs to formulate their own plans to achieve that goal. It seems like it's because of these AIs that conflicted altogether that caused them to separate.
As stated in the games, animatronics also longed for freedom. Their way out was sticking to Baby's plan and becoming Ennard. Ballora's AI opted for abandoning them and coming back to Sister Location.
She thought the concept of "freedom" was meaningless for as long as they were still machines working for Afton. She was learning to accept that fate.
She thought the best option was returning to her old suit, in an attempt to preserve herself in order to stay functional, though she was already very damaged after being ejected.
Still, she remained questioning her own existence and purpose. She was hoping for that sense of freedom after all. She couldn't do much to it, since she could barely move around, then deactivated herself after a while.
That's when Henry Emily found her.
At this point, he was setting up a trap for Afton and the remaining souls. All he needed was the right weapon to use against them.
At the Sister Location, he found William's research on remnants, found the blueprints, found out that heat was the solution, and found Ballora's broken endoskeleton lying next to her old suit.
With the necessary precautions, he took her with him and began repairs, and after many trials, he had successfully changed her programming from luring kids away from their parents to finding and killing Afton.
To Henry's surprise, during some of these trials, Ballora would casually speak. Not only she was aware he changed her programming, but she also knew who he was. She also showed a great fascination for human experiences (specific things such as love, pain, death, and sorrow), asking questions that at first caused discomfort to Henry, who was still very grieved after the death of his daughter years ago.
Still, he was very intrigued by her genuine curiosity. A deal was made: Henry would answer all of her questions in exchange for more information about William's original plans. As he recounted the MCI and the tragedies that followed, Ballora slowly developed a strong (but dangerous) sense of justice, which Henry didn't intend for. It lead him to think she was possessed, but there was little to no evidence to sustain that theory.
[It is safe to assume Ballora witnessed Lefty being built, however, they never interacted.]
Henry wanted to make sure William was on the way to the pizzeria in which he set the trap, so he sent Ballora after him, and, in case he ever went in the wrong direction, she would self-destruct, killing him in the process.
To make sure she didn't lose sight of him, Henry re-programmed Bonnet to accompany Ballora and gave her a device to track Afton at every moment.

And off they went, moving only at night and hiding in sewers so they wouldn't be seen by people on the streets.
[From this point, I don't have a clear vision of what happens in the story. There's a lot of free space for context to happen, which is good and bad at the same time lol. I believe their first stop was at Fazbear's Fright, in debris, then they proceeded to nearby areas. I have many more ideas but will only share them if you ask me to].
In case you're asking: Ballora is NOT possessed by Mrs. Afton in this AU, although the spirit of Mrs. Afton has a heavy influence on her actions throughout her journey.
Ballora is one of my favorite characters in the FNaF franchise. I also love the "robot character learns about human experiences and begins to experience them as well" dynamic, so I wrote this story. I wanted her to develop bounds and interact with other characters, some of them being Henry, Circus Baby, and Michael.
At first, she was neutral to the tragedies, then a revengeful killing machine, and in the end, an empathic AI. This story is about her realizing she was working to free the souls, not have her revenge and kill Afton.
