Update on Stuff

So! I’m going to be tidying things up somewhat. I apologize for retconning things, but I think I’m gonna back up the story and remove the Touhou characters that I had just introduced. I had some ideas for them, but I don’t think they fit too well into the whole DDLC focus like the currently-included Corpse Party characters do.

Just a warning, since while I don’t have a story update currently planned out, I figure I should mention before confusing people with an update that doesn’t continue off the last.

In the meantime! I may answer occasional asks towards the characters or myself. Don’t expect too much from me right now; I just came back to this blog on a whim! I’m still a lazy bastard.

Update!

So! My computer killed itself! I had to reinstall windows, losing all of my data in the process.

What does this mean and how does this affect the blog? I didn’t back up any of the resources for this. Any of them. Sprites, background, they’re aaall gone... so it’ll probably be a while before I can do any more character posts. I deeply apologize.

On the other hand, the girls only got one ask between the time I posted last and now, so... I guess y’all weren’t too desperate to see them again. Hopefully it’s alright.

Hey guys! It’s been a while. Honestly, I only vaguely remember where I was going with this story and it was kind of stressful to make regular updates, so I think I’ll give it some more time before I continue it.

However, in the meantime, you can now send asks directed towards the characters-- questions, whatever you’d like them to respond to. This only applies to the characters that have been revealed thus far, and not every type of question will be answered if I feel it’s overly inappropriate or may spoil future plot points.

These ask blog posts aren’t canon to the story unless specified otherwise. Some may be, if I decide it might be fun. If you don’t care about these types of posts, you’re free to blacklist the tag “#ddtb ask” while optionally whitelisting “#ddtb story”.

Lastly, these will be answered at my own leisure. Enjoy!

Sorry if I'm being rude, but is this blog still active? I really enjoyed the story so far.

whoooops, i never said anything, did i… i guess i’m kind of taking a break? i would like to continue this at some point, don’t get me wrong! but i’ve been… dissatisfied with my attempts to script out the next parts of the story, and it’s kind of bothersome…

of course, it’s in part due to laziness as well, and i’ve been working on fics and art and stuff for other fandoms. but not being able to script it out really makes it hard to do anything more with the story, as one might expect.

yeah it was a pretty bad joke but it’s still kind of in-character, at least currently. she’s still learning to think about the impact of what she says that may not have mattered before but does matter now.

but no, it’s not canon. it would be kind of forced at this point if it was.

Hey there guys, lack of updates have been...

beeecause I’ve been totally sick since the day after Christmas and have used that as an excuse to not do any work on things and just play games instead. And I still am sick. Oops. Next update will be coming today-ish though, so you can look forward to that.

Also I’ve gotten a lot of asks and I think I’ve said this before, but I don’t want to spam peoples’ dashboards, so I won’t be posting most of them. Rest assured I’ll be taking all y’all’s inputs into account and I appreciate all the nice messages this story has gotten thus far. I think it’s really nice that I can get people invested in a story I came up with, or even to just laugh a little at my bad jokes...

I’m gonna cut this post off before it gets a lot more rambly, but thank you guys so much for giving attention to my dumb little story and I’ll see you in the next update.

... Okay so I have to ask this, since I've never played or watched a let's play of "Corpse Party" but is "Comic Sexual Assault" gonna be a thing I should expect from Seiko? Because I'm not sure I'm comfortable with sexual assault being played for laughs, or a lack of regards for boundaries being treated as an amusing quirk.

Ah yeah, I should explain. Playful groping is something she does frequently(this is canon, as she does it constantly to Naomi and I believe she’s shown to do it once to Ayumi?), but she’ll absolutely refrain from doing so if the person in question seriously tells her to stop or is very obviously uncomfortable with it(thiiis is headcanon since it’s unclear but assumed that Naomi is okay with it, since they’re best friends and Naomi seems the type that would speak her mind if she’s uncomfortable with something).

I’ll probably have an update soon enough(after the current Monika plot stuff) that has it addressed in-story, since obviously not every character would be comfortable with that sort of thing, and it’s still sort of bad for her to do it without knowing if it’s alright with the other person in the first place.

If I’m writing it badly or you want such things tagged feel free to let me know, but please know I’m not intending to make light or make a joke of sexual assault or anything-- As for her intentions, Seiko is just trying to be friendly in a way that could be done better.
