If you're wondering why Indigo Park would have both an animatronic and a mascot of the same character: in real life, animatronics are more or less completely stationary (or rather, are physically built into their stages), meaning that they can't walk around. If it's not physically built into it's stage, it's not actually an animatronic.
Think like Disney's theme parks: There's a Buzz Lightyear animatronic for the queue into his ride, but also a Buzz Lightyear mascot guests can meet with. They also have a a handful of Winnie the Pooh animatronics for the Winnie the Pooh ride, in addition to a Winnie the Pooh mascot wandering around the park for guests to meet.
So yeah, it's actually another example of Indigo Park taking cues from reality.
woah thatse really cool!! i didnt know that, but it makes sense.
huh but now thats got me thinking. cause i did some research into the collectibles earlier and i found out there were people in mascot suits before the mascot animals went into the picture (pressumably? its a dsaf reference but its in game so im taking it as canon) so now im wondering,, what the fuck happened in indigo park? like, apparently it shut down eight years ago, and word of god confirms the "present day" of the game is 2023 which means it shut down in 2015,, , thats not. that long ago. i remember things that happened back then. the internet existed back then.
if they jurassic park'd those mascots, wouldnt the player character have,, known? about the park being dangerous? disney would have absolutely talked about some science fuckery as like a promotion thing. why did the player character not treat it as potentially dangerous. why was there no info online in the in-game world about the park
also the idea of there being multiple mascots for the same character is getting more and more supported and its such a hilarious idea. rambley doesnt care that mollies dead cause theres more than one of her.
