That 'blank' Near problem

I can't get over the fact that not only does the fandom canonize Near as a blank, emotionless individual, but it is also generally accepted that even characters within the story, like Mello, see him as such. People use the term "emotionless robot" as if humans actually operate in a way that makes hyper-analytical people incapable of having feelings. It also bothers me when people use the word "logical" as if it was a personality trait. People can't be logical, they can be rational, practical, stoic, analytical, etc., because people don't "make sense" in the way patterns and concepts do, they are physical beings, not abstract systems.

But apart from the semantics, stereotyping people into categories such as "feeler" and "thinker" without understanding the cognitive processes behind them is plain oversimplification.

I think Near's character has endless potential for theorizing about why he doesn't express his feelings openly. Is he suppressing them? Is he doing it on a conscious or unconscious level? What if his work ethic is a form of escapism or some kind of dissociation resulting from early childhood trauma? What if he has niche moral or philosophical principles, given that he's a highly intelligent individual? Giftedness is usually associated with sensitivity, not detachment from it. What if he sees the world in a different way? What if he's autistic? That doesn't exclude the ability to feel, it simply means that he operates differently, which is endlessly fun to explore.

Calling Near blank not only denies his natural capacity to feel, but also downplays his inner processing and reduces him to a boring concept designed to serve the narrative, which is a shame given that we're dealing with a so-called "genius."

i just noticed this but on the alliance ring where marinette's old friend shows her that you can dress up adrien you can have adrien in his underwear. adrien already gets harassed sexually by adults and teenagers which gabriel hardly shows concern over and he continued to exploit adrien with forcing him to be a model then digitizing him against his wishes. gabriel is a predator, he sexually exploited adrien whether people like to hear that or not, it's the truth. this part of adriens trauma is never explored enough by both canon and the fandom.

gabriel agreste is canonically a sexual predator by exploiting his own son to the world. i understand that the show may have not tried to go in that deep, especially since any writing outside of the agreste's is doodoo butt cheeks, but when you're an adult who's been through what adrien has it becomes crystal clear on who gabriel truly is as a person. i could go on and on about his character but currently i don't have the energy for that!
