what media (ttte episodes, other ttte media, fanworks, whatever) got you into peter sam/duncan ?? ive heard abt this ship a little bit and my interest has been piqued..

AAAAAH MUSICALFUNNEL QUESTION IM LOCKED IN

So honestly I started shipping Peter Sam and Duncan before I even watched all of the episodes they were in LMAO. I mentioned the potential of their ship to my roommate (@butterscotch-101) one night and we officially started shipping them.

Ofc after that I took note of every episode that they were both in and watched them all. Series 6’s “Faulty Whistles” is one of my favorites, where Duncan teases Peter Sam for losing his whistle but later on loses his own for using it way too much. The others tease Duncan for having to use the organ he’s delivering as a whistle, but Peter Sam is the one who feels sympathy for him. Duncan actually stops being grumpy when Peter Sam calls him brave and it’s the CUTEST THING😭

A small moment I love is from series 18’s “Duncan and the Grumpy Passenger”, when Peter Sam meets Duncan at a station and teases him when he’s grumbling about his passenger who is always complaining. I love how it’s Peter Sam who is comfortable enough to tease him about his hypocrisy and actually get away with it.

I know the “grumpy x sunshine” dynamic is often blown wayyyyy out of proportion and often ruined by people who infantilize the “sunshine” of the pair, but I just can’t ignore the potential that Duncan and Peter Sam have. Peter Sam being able to cheer him up will always be special to me tbh; even Duncan has a soft side. Duncan rockin and rolling on the rails is a more extreme version of Peter Sam singing a little tune as he works. I absolutely love that they both have their little quirks.

I could talk about these two for HOURS but this response is already long😭😭 BUT I can see myself posting some humanized MusicalFunnel art in the near future! Thank you for the ask, I hope I explained well enough! ❤️
