Traits Project (Part 1 ) - TS3 Traits for TS2
Hereâs the first and most important part of the Traits Project: the traits themselves! With this, Sims can now have personality traits like in The Sims 3.
These traits are technically objects that need to be in your Simsâ inventories. I was thinking making them as invisible tokens, but I really like the icons and itâs easier to add/remove objects from inventory, so they are more like âvisible tokensâ.
Even though these are inventory objects, there are some things that canât be done to make things more convenient:
Sims canât have two identical traits in their inventories.
Sims canât give their traits as a gift (that would be weird). Traits will be hidden when the Give Gift dialog appears.
Hereâs what you will find in the folder:
99 traits from TS3, each of them has their original name and description. Available in English and French. You can remove traits you donât want.
A file named trait_MAIN. It contains the mesh and a custom camera thumbnail for the traits. Itâs important to not delete this file if you still have some traits in your Downloads folder. Otherwise, the traits wonât show up.
A collection file named Traits_Collection so you can easily access to the traits in Buy/Build Mode. It goes in your Collections folder.
Last but not least, there are two versions:
HB_TS3ToTS2Traits_catalog. The traits will show in Buy Mode, in the Misc/Misc section.
HB_TS3ToTS2Traits_collectionOnly. The traits will only show in the Collection folder (so the collection file is needed).
! Keep in mind that these are simply objects and they wonât do anything gameplay wise. Later parts of the project will be about mods involving these. If you are a modder and would like to mod something using these traits, you are more than welcome! Hereâs the list of traits with their GUIDs.
