So....I was thinking it'd be fun to have an alien cat
Much to my surprise, nothing like that quite exists for sims 2? I mean, there's tons of excellent custom pet furs out there, but none that replicate the appearance of the default alien sims in sims 2
So I recolored kitteninthewindow's hairless cat fur to be mint green and made some of my own custom cat eyes. Then I found out that the sliders for cat eyes are very limited and wouldn't allow me to get big slanted alien eyes. I looked for custom pet sliders, to no avail. That would be way outside the scope of something I could make, for sure.
Then it occurred to me that I could just make a fur pattern that looks like big eyes. So here's the result - Naptune the alien cat.
I'm still not happy with her - I might edit her paw marks so they don't look like fur (a gradient instead, I'm thinking) and make the eye shine a fur pattern as well so it's in a more logical place. They wouldn't move when the cat looks around then though. I'll have to play around to see what looks good.

Hi all! Welcome to another legacy conversion by me! This is the ‘Very Veggie Legacy Challenge’, originally created by lilsimsie as a follow-up to her original ‘Not So Berry’ challenge. I stumbled upon this challenge by chance, looking for something to play, after getting the itch to play some Sims 4. Whilst skimming the rules, I couldn’t help but think they could also work for Sims 3 gameplay, so I quickly set about converting it.
One notable difference from the rules of the original one is that I have blended both the general rules for each generation with those of the ‘base game’ rules. Sims 3 has fewer packs and store content than Sims 4, so I thought it would make the generations feel fuller to blend the two.
As with the original rules, this is something of a colour-based challenge. Instead of basic colour themes, the colours are to be inspired by the vegetables used in each generation. This can be interpreted any way you like - colourful hair and clothes, full berry sims, or even just a colour house!
The original rules also intend for this to be played as a sort of rags-to-riches style challenge. You are encouraged to start on an empty lot with zero funds, but you are welcome to start in a starter home and move up in the world as the challenge progresses!
This challenge, as with the original, is meant to encourage fun and goofy gameplay. If you choose not to follow rules exactly, I am not going to bite your head off! The important thing is to have fun and play as you want to play!
General Rules:
Start with one YA sim founder sim
Dress your founder and heirs to match their assigned colour theme and vegetable! You may also choose to decorate their house to match the theme
Use the assigned traits and aspiration for Generation 1 (Broccoli) when creating your Sim. If you get random traits for your heirs in the future, try to assign at least one of their remaining traits with that of the upcoming generation
To complete this challenge you must make it through ten generations of the same family and complete all (if not most) of the challenges for each generation
If you are missing a career or trait, feel free to substitute it with whatever you deem appropriate
The next generation officially “begins” once you complete the rules of the previous generation and/or the heir has become a young adult
GENERATION ONE: BROCCOLI
Vegetables spend a lot of time outside staring at the sky. You notice the way sunlight filters through leaves. You hear how the wind sings. You watch the sky paint a picture every night at sunset. Nature is beautiful, and you want to capture it. You become an artist and dedicate your life to honing your craft and sharing it with others.

Not too long ago, I had asked if you guys would like me to rewrite my All In One legacy challenge that is based off the LEPacy challenge! I decided, why not? I have attempted this challenge multiple times but the only reason that I have not gotten through is because I am never happy with my founder- but, now, it is 2022, and I have made this challenge a few years ago and I think it needs some touching up. This challenge spans from the base game and ends with Into The Future, though you can continue on after if you would like to.
Notes: You can either play this like the original legacy challenge rules where you are not allowed to use cheats, etc. or you can play this however you want! I personally do not mind using cheats and stuff. Challenge under the cut!
UPDATED DIFFERENCES IN THE FAMILY TREE CHALLENGE 2023
ahh, the differences in the family tree challenge or DITFT for short. this was, by far, one of my FAVORITE challenges to do when i still played the sims 4, alongside the disney legacy challenge and for the sims 3. the issue back then was that i could never finish generation one. now with my own lepacy following hix’s rules, i've been inspired and having a blast, but also don’t want to keep playing the same save and get bored! so what did i do? i decided to make a more updated DITFT challenge with a point system with the goal of wanting to get the most out of each generation, much like the completionist challenge.
the rules i am referencing/using are not mine. there are currently two sets of rules, one from 2010 which is the original challenge by angelofafallen and an updated version of that challenge, from the sims 3 forum website from 2012. now, i haven’t changed too much but, but upon looking at the rules, it seemed that university, island paradise, seasons, and into the future were missing so that's been added!
the differences in the family tree challenge is essentially like the completionist challenge. you are taking each generation as a chance to explore each and every corner of the game and discover things you’ve never done before, hence why this and the completionist challenge are my favorite challenges by far. this challenge offers sixteen generations, but you can give or take a few if sixteen is too much for you. however, this has been expanded into TWENTY generations, but the total number being THIRTY SIX. HOLY CRAP! and that is including all the extra generational challenges. if that number is too much for you, then you can stick to the normal ten, or do however many gens you want!
FUN NOTE: you can spice this challenge up by randomizing each generation where you don’t go in the order of this challenge, so you may start out as a farmer, then end up a werewolf in the next generation, or begin as a resort owner, to living as a scientist in the next. the choice is yours! you can also choose to penalize yourself to make it a bit challenging and to kinda push you to reach the goals for each generation. really, its up to you!

Hi all, this is my first Sims 3 legacy challenge I've made myself, it is a result of my boredom on a Saturday evening but it was a lot of fun, so I'll throw this at you ☺
This elemental legacy challenge is for The Sims 3 and spans 9 Generations. It is inspired by the Chinese Zodaic Elements and also inspiration from my favourite JRPG's which utlise a lot of elemental themed magic. It has guided ideas and generational requirements with story themes throughout. Feel free to tag me if you have a go at this ✨
Rules:
I have listed the intended requirements for each generation, move on to the next generation once the requirements are complete or the next heir becomes a young adult
I have listed some guidance on careers, lifetime wishes and traits. I recommend taking 2-3 of the traits listed but they aren't mandatory
You can use money cheats if you wish, I've tried to write the generational order to put you in the desired financial spot for storytelling, but please just have fun with it
Please do alter and play this how you wish & how your stories pan out, the guidance is just there for ideas and isn't meant to limit you
Generation 1 - Earth
Child of earth, you are grounded and resillient. Your goal is to provide your family with solid foundations for the generations to come. You are selfless, stubborn and driven. You know what you want and will work your upmost to achieve it. Your ambitious and frugal nature can get on other's nerves and prompts the question: with so much planning for the future, are you really taking time to enjoy your own life?
Begin in a starter house. You should not move lots or houses this Generation and instead add extensions onto your house when needed
Master the cooking and nectar making skills
Fall in love and marry one person in your lifetime
Do not have children until you reach level 8 of your career
Save 20,000 for the next generation
Generation 2 - Water
Child of water, thanks to your parents hardwork, you had a carefree childhood and now plenty of savings behind you. You are a calm free spirit that lets the oceans currents carry you to your next adventure. You are in no rush to settle in one place just yet, why rush when you are having such fun? Your time for settling down will come evetually. Whatever will be will be.
Traits: Adventurous, Loves to swim, Commitment Issues, Easily Impressed, Athletic

Generation 3 - Fire

Child of grass, you just can't get enough of babies, especially your own! Your family and their wellbeing are your whole world. You live to nourish, protect and teach your loved ones. However, you have been told on one or more occasions that you can be overbearing...a helicopter parent perhaps? Don't they know you only want what is best for them?
Traits: Nurturing, Perfectionist, Loves the Outdoors, Family Orientated, Green Thumb,

Job: Daycare
Requirements:
Have a garden and live off the land, using your grown produce for meals

Rumours have been circulating that your appearances are a rouse: you're broke, narcissistic and even miserable! They're just jealous of your fame and fortune...right?

Generation 7 - Metal
Child of metal, you know what it's like to be at rock bottom. Due to your parents neglect and carelessness, you taught yourself all you know to get by and find your next meal, even if you aren't proud of it. You are stubborn, self-reliant and one hell of an evil genius. You won't hit rock bottom again. Ever.

As a teen: consistently maintain D's at school, skip school, pull pranks and steal from neighbours

Generation 8 - Air
Child of air, your life so far has been turbulent and chaotic. Your parents death has scarred you and you have floated through life lost. You try to travel on the right path for your late parent, but you can't help but feel there is more to life than what meets the eye. There are sounds at night that wake you, unexplained foresight into future events and a pull to the paranormal. Perhaps it is time to stop fighting this unknown path and instead let the winds carry you to where you are meant to be.
Join a base game job in young adulthood. Quit once you reach level 3
Reach level 10 of your chosen career
Donate money to charity every week to honour your late parent
Marry a supernatural or one of your clients

Whimsy Stories Legacy Challenge Converted from TS4 for TS3
I was looking at challenges again and saw this one and thought it was a pretty cool legacy challenge to play except it was for TS4. Well not anymore…
Whimsy Stories Legacy Challenge is a TS4 legacy challenge created by @kateraed where simmers who wish to be more involved in their sims lives with compelling storytelling as well as expand their gameplay through this challenge. Original rules can be found here.
I take no credit for this challenge except the conversion for TS3. Some of the stuff in TS4 is not applicable to TS3 (vice versa) so some changes were made to fit for TS3 gameplay.
If you’re like me, I like a good legacy challenge with nice themes/aesthetics to place/plan out with each heir with enough wiggle room for creative interpretations. No. Well I’ve always wanted to do a zodiac legacy challenge but could never find the rules for TS3 or most of them were made for TS4. So I guess I thought I would just make one then.

Hi Simmers! This is my second legacy challenge called the Sims Townie Legacy Challenge
The 25th anniversary of the Sims series and the re-release of the Sims and Sims 2 inspired me to create this legacy. Throughout the years the iconic townies and family's lore has made the game so special. With so many timelines for characters such as Bella Goth or the Landgraabs I combined all versions of these Townies for each generation, as well as added some fan favorites from the Sims 3 & 4.
