I wish I could explain how much reading Cheritz’s last blog post broke my heart.
They work so hard and are such a small company (fewer than 30 people worked on Mysme) and they’re still apologising for not being able to communicate skillfully and assuring us they pay attention and want us to trust them and I’m honestly just
How have we gotten to the point that this is something they have to say? I hope this doesn’t come as a result of being harassed by people over new content for Mysme, the Valentine’s event or the non existent Rika route. They deserve better than this bullshit
You know whats even sadder? Knowing friends of my e-mailing cheritz and getting a response in literally 4 minutes but cheritz then saying they lack communication skills. T_T
Sure, they are a small company, but still a company.
There’s no reason to coddle them as if they have no prior experience with public relations, especially taken they have released two games before Mystic Messenger. Cheritz as a company has been around for at least 6 years, that’s plenty of time to hire a PR specialist or Marketing Director. Even if they didn’t need one for Dandelion and Nameless, they should’ve gotten one with the popularity of Mystic Messenger (which was popular enough to win best indie game title in South Korea last year). Trying to use “well lol we are programmers and we don’t have PR person” as an excuse is highly unprofessional.
Also I have no idea how reactions to Mystic Messenger content are even mentioned in this context, because the main point of their post was to inform about the delay (and reasons for it) with The Ssum’s release. At this point they don’t even know when the game will launch, so the delay may be an additional week from soft launch or it might be as well a month. It’s in their best interest to apologize for something like this.
