Tomiko is a genderfluid (she/he, sometimes they) teen bakeneko yokai. She’s a Hidden City resident with her mother who runs much of the City’s (and crime mobs) finances all from a lovely tea house. A shapeshifter, he’s able to poof into a small cat to escape with ease, but seems to have trouble accessing other forms. She’s sarcastic, biting, and aloof, and only shows her soft underbelly to those he truly trusts, which is a very VERY short list. Keep an eye on your wallet when around her.

IM ADDING MORE DRAGONS TO CURSE OF ICARUS.

You can never have too many dragons. And I blame @cimmerian1275 for the idea–

Frida is Big Mama’s most trusted assistant! And when looking into her lore, I found out the boys were also meant to have ANOTHER long lost sibling, though he was never named. So! I took these two unexplored characters and ran with it ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

The Baron Draxum has made a few batches of dragon eggs before the four we know and love. They were all failed attempts, of course — a lot of them didn’t even survive incubation. Some of them he let die cuz he could tell they wouldn’t be right, like what he’d intended for the twins when he saw they had no wings in their eggs.

A few made it to hatch day, but were given to Big Mama in exchange for supplies and information. That was Frida’s batch. They were all deformed in some way, with Frida being the most dragon-like, even with her stature and underdeveloped wings. BM put all of the gifted experiments into the Nexus except for Frida, specifically because she looked too dragonic. Last thing the Nexus needed was Bruce and his Barbarians on her tail!

So, she kept Frida, only letting her out if she was cloaked, and only one brother survived the Nexus for longer than a year.

Leatherback (whose name I’m still debating lol) is based on the leatherback sea turtle! He’s mostly mute, aside from some grunts, growls, and chirps. He never feels safe, in his room or the arena, so he’s essentially “Savage” all the time, only ever calm and somewhat lucid when Frida is around.

She only wishes her beloved brother would be welcomed in the world, but Mama knows he’d just be attacked… so it’s best he knows how to defend himself. :/

COI REFERENCE PICTURES

Mostly for their "cloaked," humanoid forms and the respective cloaking item used! Since there are so many large yokai species, there are cloaking items made specifically to reduce their size and make it easier to access buildings in the Hidden City. Leo was the first to find one in Big Mama's vault (during "Bug Busters"). It wasn't... on purpose, since he just saw bird and took it, but the surprise was useful all the same!

They're not super hard to get otherwise! Mikey and Raph just picked theirs up at a general shop in the Hidden City. Donnie's was the only one that cost much, but that was because he was picky. It's made blending into the crowd a lot easier.

Local newborn anomaly gets told they have to work for the hospital that fucked them over and infected them because that's the only way they'll get food without killing it themself and they REALLY don't wanna turn into some mindless flesh eating horror.

Good thing they form a friendship with a much older and kinder anomaly who will go out and get food for them when the hospital is actually doing really well and hasn't killed anyone in a while. And is more than willing to show them the ropes of being an anomaly for a cup of joe.

Poor Caine. There's nothing more traumatising than seeing your parents being intimate with each other. It's that one thing no one can grow out of no matter how old you are.

Caine probably thinks something along the way: "How these two grown people, who are married for years and have kids, dare to have any sex life!? How do they even know what it is?! They are parents! My parents! They should know better!"
