Watching Hank Green use the dewey decimal system as the basis of the grocery store system is kinda upsetting as someone with a MLIS degree. Like Melville Dewey sucks. Like there are entire classes that are like hey figure out a new cataloging system, cause people don't want to use it anymore and it's an interesting exercise Making a standardized grocery store is also a really fascinating concept. Cause when you look at the dewey decimal system and uniformity, my brain goes immediately to racism and fascism, and how one might be unintentionally reproducing that or the lengths someone will go to not reproduce that from the current grocery store layout and dewey decimal system
