I've been in the shifting community since 2020 and witnessed the horrors that was 2020 shifttok, but I'm forever grateful for that time since it's what introduced me to shifting! Around 2024 I took a break from shifting after not seeing much tangible success, and only recently got back into the community. I feel much better about my journey now after debunking a lot of the misinformation I thought was essential to shifting.
Moral of the story: now I know I'm the key, and that means I will shift no matter what ;)

When I made that first appearance I was terrified, but I felt so handsome in these gems that it made me feel like I belonged
☆┇From the opening of my first public gardens/animal sanctuary! I love being a champion for wildlife conservation, so this became one of my first personal royal projects. I wore these beautiful earrings to commemorate one of my favorite flowers, orchids, which I used on the grand archway opening to the sactuary
☆┇From my everyday royal wardrobe! As someone who loves over the top glitz and glam for my royal style, I consider these pretty tame. I needed something that was lightweight and wouldn't overwhelm my casual outfits (in my dr we always have to wear some kind of headpiece in public). If you want locs, you must install them first. Whether you comb coil, two strand twist (like i did), braid, or even instant loc. For this example, I'll leave out instant locs 'cause those cheat the natural loccing process.
"Trust The Loc Journey/Process" is a big saying in the loc community - we live by it. Time will pass eventually! Just start the locs! In 5 years from now, you would've had your dream length if you'd started them the same year that you were contemplating having locs. Similarly, if you'd just stop complaining about circumstances, if you'd just affirm and persist in your new identity, months from now you'd have it. Don't be the person who regrets not starting while others enjoy the fruit of their labor because they simply applied it instead of being their very own victim.
Now imagine this: Someone starts their locs and 2 months later they comb it out because "My locs weren't growing!! They still haven't matured into locs!" We'd look at them like they're crazy. Especially those of us who've been loc'd for 10 years. 2-month locs are babies!!! They're barely in the game, and you quit! What?! Imagine the 10+ year loc'd folks. They had to go through the same thing too. They went through the frizz, the budding, the uneven pieces, the married locs, the WHOLE of it.
They persisted through the loccing process. They trusted it because they already knew they had locs. They knew they'd mature. They knew locs have no choice but to grow. Hair grows regardless. Time isn't relevant - time passes eventually. You decide whether time passes WITH you and your desire in mind, or if time passes without your desire and you only feel regret for having given up instead of persisting.
No one, and i mean NO ONE regrets persisting. Feeling my hair sway down my back and remembering my baby starter locs, I do NOT regret trusting the process... I'm happy I trusted it, because I'm here now.
Sitting here with takeout next to me that I bought as a treat with the money I manifested (persisted for) as an unemployed 18yo is something I do NOT regret. I don't regret persisting in the identity of someone who can live life rich without breaking my back for it.
Persistence guarantees success. You can't NOT have locs if you let your hair loc. That makes no fucking sense. How tf is my locs gonna test me to see if i'm worthy of having locs? Locs form by the coils/curls in your hair naturaly wrapping around each other into knots and tangles. When pulled apart and brushed and manipulated, you'll get your afro or whatever style you want, but naturally our hair locs up. See freeform locs as an example. It can't NOT loc up unless you decide it wont. It's sort of a law of our hair's physics. Think of law of assumption. That's also a law. It can't NOT manifest whatever you're assuming.
How the hell is my hair gonna test me and not loc up? Btch if you don't loc up. My hair isn't testing me, it's loccing up because I'm letting it. I'm the one in control of what my hair does. If i wanna comb it out and get a silk press, I will! If i wanna leave em alone to loc up, they WILL loc up because I am allowing them to. It can't NOT loc up. That makes no sense. It only stops loccing the moment I decide to comb them out and continuously comb out and braid and manipulate my hair. That's a decision.
The locs are your decision. The undoing of your locs are your decision! Choose your decision and stick by it!!
Imagine combing out your locs 5weeks after getting them installed.. Then you see women and their waist length locs and you remember why you wanted locs in the first place so you start them again.. then you get tired of waiting so you comb them out again.
Listen to me: You will never have locs.
This back and forth is not a decision. It's a mess. You keep stopping and changing identities right as things were moving behind the scenes... When will you get to your destination if you keep leaving trains because they "weren't moving yet"? You keep leaving one train and going on another and leaving before they could go because you were 'impatient.' You'll stay at the station forever.
Similarly, you keep unloccing your starters before they even began the loccing process! Leave your hair alone!!1
YES, you can doubt that your hair is growing! Yes, you can doubt that your locs are maturing! Yes, you can be afraid! But that comb better NOT touch your head!! Even on days where I compared my hair to others, i still watered them, still trusted them, still said: "They went through this too." and they also told me that they had to push through it and they don't regret it. I knew i wouldn't either.
In the blink of an eye, you wake up one day and say: "When did my babies get this long?" Because you stopped looking at time. You just KEPT GOING. If not in the mirror, then an old selfie shows up in your gallery, and you see the drastic growth that you were too blinded to see before. You have locs now. Feels like just yesterday you were BEGGING to be like the long hair loc girlies on Pinterest, and before you even knew it, you hit that length goal. Happened to me the other day. The "my locs are officially at the length I used to gawk at" moment. Persistence made it happen. It was inevitable, so long as I persisted in it. It couldn't NOT happen.
Time don't matter. Feels like yesterday I was wanting this length. Yet, it's been almost 2 years. Time will eventually pass, so you just start, and your persistence is a guaranteed success. Time doesn't matter - Your persistence does.
Your Locs = Your desire.
Trust the Process = Keep persisting.
Starting locs, combing them out, starting them again, never actually having locs because you keep undoing them = Wavering, going back and forth on who you actually are, never officially having your desire because you keep taking it away from yourself.
Locs are locs. Starters are still locs, you already HAVE locs. Now keep pouring into your locs with trust that they knew what they're doing. You water them, you clean them, you cover them in a bonnet. THEY grow, THEY thrive, THEY exist because of you.

Lueimaara is a lilypad-dwelling fairy city located around the outskirts of the capital. Fairies can often be seen riding fish, napping in the crevices of waterlily flowers, and playing flutes made with the stems of lily pads.

Lueimaara's ponds are lazily warm, and the water feels almost soft on the skin. Pink cherry trees overhang the eastern portion of Lueimaara, and due to the scenery, this part of the lake is a popular spot for temporary residents, who typically move homes every season or so.
Wealthy permanent residents, or noble fae who consider Lueimaara their main home, live in the middle of the lake. Since the middle of the lake tends to have the most resources, nobles refuse to give up their neighborhoods. The middle is the deepest portion of the lake, so river pearls + glass, fish, and merfolk cause high-value bartering goods to be abundant here!
Kids like to play among the lily pads, especially using them as boats if they're too young to ride fish, and catching a ride on a turtle ferry isn't nearly as fun as trying to win a lily pad race across the pond.

Lueimaara fairies, aka ‘Luei’ fairies, are water-skipping fae who live among the lily pads. They’re especially known for their dancing, flute orchestras, questionable frog mounts, and hairstyles.
Lily fae usually tend to have dark blue, green, or black hair. Some legacy families have passed down a striking petal color, like lotus pink. Because Lily-born fairies rarely have petal colored hair, having colorful hair is a symbol of wealth and beauty here. Hair is often fashioned into thick braids; adult Luei fae will cut blunt bangs or layers in their hair to signify an end to childhood.
Eyes consist of hazel, blue, green, yellow, or black.
Most Luei fae are dragonflies OR a hybrid of dragonfly and pixie.
In terms of body and facial features, lily fae are usually quite lean yet fit. Thin heart-shaped lips, monolided or thin-lidded doe eyes, and soft, round faces are commonly seen around these ponds.

Dried lily pads, minerals, vines, and dried lotus petals are used a lot in Luei fae clothing. Drooping-set dresses/long dresses are considered work dresses here, while ‘play’ dresses are much shorter. Crystalized bubbles may also be fashioned on the hair and fabric, though these bubbles can easily get expensive, so they’re not worn to simple everyday events.
Many lake fae will opt out of wearing shoes if their work involves them standing on fish or moving surfaces; otherwise, they wear shoes or sandals made of stiffened lily pads and twine. These shoes are often adorned with tiny gems or petals.
Higher class clothing is scented during the drying and stiffening process, though, due to the environment, the scent needs to be reapplied to the fabric every few months to continue smelling nice.
Trends are a huge factor in determining what is commonly worn here, at the moment, long, draping flower hair accessories and hair tinsel are popular.
mermaid influences
Mermaids influence Luei fae in fashion, mannerisms, aesthetics, and valued goods. Pearls and shells are highly prized among the pond fae— they’re treated like gold to us here. Pearl is used in SO many fabrics in Lueimaara, especially silk and gossamer, but it can also be used in perfumes and bath essentials. A cheaper variant of pearl is mica and ground seashells, though those are still acquired by merfolk.
Pearl products are extremely expensive; only those with the means to afford these items can buy pearl-heavy products.
Certain phrases sailors call out affect the mer, and in turn, sometimes return to the pond. Some of these include:
“Fair winds and following seas”
Used to with another with blessings and good wishes.
“Even keel”/”Keel over”
Even keel is used when a boat is level, and keel over is when a boat is tipped
“Crow’s Nest”
The highest point of a building, typically the lookout or balcony of a noble house.
“Pond legs”
Derived from “Sea legs”, anyone with ‘pond legs’ can stay balanced on a lily pad or turtle.
These terms are used much more amongst older fae who’ve traded and bartered with the mer often.
Since mermaids are quite popular upon their arrival to fae ponds, sometimes, younger children pretend or want to be mermaids— this, however, has led to some mermaid fanatics leaving Luei for the human realm’s oceans. Though the fairies who leave in such circumstances often die from the rapids of the sea or human greed.
specialized occupations
Because water is so abundant here, it’s a major part of Lueimaara’s trade. Jobs relating to water are quite easy to find here, though those, of course, aren’t the only kinds of jobs you can pursue here.
DIVERS
Divers dive to the bottom of ponds to fetch special fruits, water-curing wine, and other objects for other fae. In shallower parts of the pond, these fairies will dive without the aid of a fish, but in deeper areas, a fish mount is used to make their way down faster.
Divers also fetch any litter they see in the waters to ensure the pond is livable for the fish and fae residing in it.
FLUTISTS
Flutists either use stem-made flutes or flutes crafted from metal. There is some debate about using a metal flute, but it does produce a cleaner sound than a stem-made flute. Of course, flutists play the flute!
WATER DANCERS
Water dancers use a combination of water-skipping and fish to execute their performances. Fish may burst out of the water to launch fae up in the air, and water-skipping allows them to make their steps look and feel more delicate.
FISH TAMERS
Fish tamers tame fish (shocking, ik), but they primarily help other fairies tame or ride fish. They frequently work with children and tourists. Fish tamers also work closely with water dancers to help fish actually learn what they’re supposed to do.
FERRYFAE
These fairies use turtles to move heavy cargo across the lake. They interact with merfolk often for trade and double as merchants.
PERFUMISTS
High-class fae like scented clothing, so perfumists will apply powdered flowers and the like to ensure their clothing smells brand new. They also make potpourri satchels!
animals in the pond
fish
Fish are often used as forms of transportation, dance partners, and signifiers of water quality! As mentioned earlier, they make frequent appearances in water flitting performances. Most luei fae are affiliated with a fish, though noble luei fairies will pick out rare koi varieties, like the ghost koi. The fish you’ll often see in the pond are carp, a wide variety of koi fish, minnows, and, rarely, loaches.
turtles
Turtles are slow-moving animals built for ferrying parcels over long distances. Ferryfae are incredibly reliant on them, of course, but it’s not uncommon to see fish swim up to package-carrying turtles out of curiosity. Turtles can also be seen during festivals— fae may set up a stall on their backs!
frogs
Frogs are mostly used as racing mounts, not practical mounts, though there are fae that use them as primary forms of transportation. Frogs are slippery and hard to ride continuously, so many people will bet on how long it takes for the fairy to slip off at frog riding competitions. While they’re not the most useful, they’re considered adorable by all luei fae— well, besides the nobles.
childhood
In general, all Luei fae are extremely conscious of their lake’s pollution. Divers will get pretty riled up over large deposits of scraps, and if they think they know who tossed the junk, they won’t hesitate to scold them. Trash is either burned or deposited on trash ferryfae.
Efforts to clean and purify the water happen monthly, but if the fish seem sluggish or diseased, everyone rounds up to fix the problem with a bit of fairy magic (and herbs).
Water-skipping is taught to lily fae early since it allows them to traverse short distances across the water quicker. Lily-skipping is also a popular pastime— kids will run and hop across lily pads + play tag this way! Many children are given ocarinas, though now parents resent the tradition due to the noise. Soup dumplings made with clear, chewy water dough and sweet jam are popular among kids— expect many vendors to sell these treats!
Teachers stress the protection of the lake, not only for its creatures, but the water quality. Kids will literally gather and throw away litter for fun here. While great, this sentiment can make the Lueis seem a bit thorny in other parts of the forest— the quickest way to irritate a pond-born fairy is to litter, misplace clothing items outside, or not help animals in need, and depending on the fairy, this can create a large spat in an otherwise peaceful public setting.

A pond fairy is considered an adult at 20.

this is a collective event, so everyone in the pond turning 20 that month needs to attend to celebrate

the fae who’re celebrating adulthood hold a special dance with fireflies, then just as the dance ends, the fairies zip around and throw the dyed fairy dust at each other— the person who hits the most people wins the Dance of Light
the fireflies also get really excited when the fairy dust is thrown around, and will deliberately bump other fae to prevent them from winning a hit on another fae
AETERNUS
all homes must be lit throughout the night
it’s tradition to do this for three full days
aeternus specific lanterns are placed on lily pads around the pond to intimidate wild animals
special candles made to burn for long are also made the day before aeternus
this tradition came around when wolves tried to ravage the pond of fae
MERMAE
celebrates the return of the largest crowd of mermaids to the pond
a whole week full of trade and fae/mermaid songs
mermaids often tell stories when they can, especially to the children, of the things they saw while they were away
SWAN SOIREE
celebrates the return of spring
swans return to Lueimaara in spring
fairies dress in white fluttery clothing and coast around on the backs of swans

Not all dishes use ingredients that are immediately native to the region! Most dishes will utilize the stuff found in the city for convenience and culture, but fairies LOVE to trade with each other, so you will see a fair bit of other cities' products here.
The dew here is primarily lily dew, which may have a slightly leafy taste depending on when it’s harvested. Morning lily dew is the least earthy, while night-harvested dew has a stronger green taste. Night lily dew is mostly used in teas and soups, but you can drink it by itself if you like— many older fae like night lily dew, and believe it’s good for the body.

For this variation of my mcu dr I've moved the timeline farther back, so the first avengers movie took place in 2005. Now, the team has been together for three years and tony's been iron man for five. Unbeknownst to us, the events of age of ultron are coming soon...
90% of the time I'm scripting for a DR, it's somewhere in the marvel universe! I love being an Avenger, and the team is always a family in my realities, so I wanted to share how I set up the team. If you're also a marvel shifter let me know how your universe is scripted!
(Note: I'm not a fan of major angst in my realities, so the accords, civil war, infinity war, and endgame are scripted out)
ˋ°•*⁀➷ Shield is an infallible resource in my reality! Fury is a great leader (he's my dad in some realities too), and shield agents are trained to be the best in the field
ˋ°•*⁀➷ Being an avenger is more than just fighting, you're also a public figure. That includes supporting causes your passionate about, appearing on red carpets and magazines, being involved in world relations, and so much more
ˋ°•*⁀➷ Although Fury is the official head of the Avengers and gives us our team directorates, Steve handles the day by day and chooses who to dispatch on certain missions. As the team grows we're able to take on more and more missions around the world
ˋ°•*⁀➷ There are daily meetings/debriefs we all have to attend, either in person or online if you're off on a mission. The only person who likes these is Steve, and most of us are just counting down the minutes until we can go get food together afterwards
ˋ°•*⁀➷ Our PR team is massive and long suffering, but they do their jobs beautifully. We all have a PR agent assigned to us, and some have an easier time than others (we've sent many consolation gifts to Tony's). They help manage our appearances and how much of our personal lives get out to the public
ˋ°•*⁀➷ Team building activities! Although we hang out together all the time, we have an official team building activity once a month where we can get photo ops for the teams social media. We let Tony plan these, but sometimes we regret that when the activity turns out to be ridiculous
ˋ°•*⁀➷ We try to cross train as much as possible so everyone has as many skills as they can. It's supposed to be serious training, but it normally turns into messing around with our powers and weapons
ˋ°•*⁀➷ The only person who lives at the tower officially is Tony, but we all have our own rooms there. There's always at least one other person crashing after a mission, too lazy to go home after a party, etc
ˋ°•*⁀➷ game nights, movie nights, just theme nights in general! Nat loves to plan these so we have them pretty often, and when Wanda joins she brings some of her own ideas and starts planning them too

Emotions don't manifest anything. Despite the idea that you always need to be positive, that's a stupid myth. In reality, no amount of sadness, longing, or especially doubt will manifest anything.
