why show us that it IS possible to escape the empty? why set up the parallel of Cas saving Dean and not have Dean save Cas? why insist that Jack shouldn’t be god and then make him god anyway? why have Dean say he wants to live and retire only to kill him? why frame that as a happy ending and not the inherent tragedy it is? why show Sam’s leadership skills and him taking on issues on his own only to have him quit hunting? why bring Eileen back from the DEAD only to erase her? why develop saileen all season long only for them to not be endgame? why have the season focus on dean and cas “breaking up” and coming back together stronger only for dean to *not* try and save him? why bring Kevin back and tell us he’s NOT at peace only to NOT resolve his storyline? why make Billie a villain last minute? why throw away every single character’s progression for an ending that hasn’t fit the show in years?

Why spend the entire season showing us what Chuck wanted out of an ending, while telling us it was an inherently BAD ending, while setting up the parameters for what a GOOD ending would look like for the characters, and then give us a bad Chuck ending anyway? Why continue implying that Rowena is miserable in hell, that demons are defying her orders/finding ways to delegitimize her rule as if her position on the throne was tenuous at best and then just drop that? Why show us the Empty in an uproar over it being LOUD and implying instability there and then drop that without any resolution? why, within the span of one episode, show us that sam and dean hadn’t found any cases and that the world seemed quiet and at peace only to have random vampire mimes jump out from s1 without any explanation? and yeah, why throw away every single characters’ progression for an ending that hasn’t fit the show in years?
