Flying High with the Shoking Model || Elesa and Skyla

Watching Skyla’s face turn beet red was just so cute. Elesa couldn’t help but stare at her. There was just something about it.. something so cute and innocent that she wanted to capture and hold dear for herself. Surely, she didn’t want anyone else to see his adorable blush. Though, it seemed as if it back fired when she complimented on her blush, and it got worse on the model. She had to hide her face because of how dark it was.

She was glad when she changed subjects, otherwise it could have gotten dangerous. “Um.. I-I’m still kinda scared..Could you.. just stay with me.. please?" The model quietly begged, letting another hug develop her, only this time, Elesa pulled her childhood friend right onto her lap with her arms securely wrapped around her. “I would.. like this alot.."

Smiling softly to herself, Elesa placed her head against the woman.

Hearing Elesa quietly confess that her fear was still in place, Skyla smiled a small smile. She didn't get to see Elesa act like this and it definitely landed a soft spot in her heart. Skyla couldn't help but smile, knowing that she was helping Elesa instead of it being the other way around. "I'll stay with you..." She smiled genuinely, wanting to let the model know she would always be there for her.

Skyla didn't really notice being pulled onto Elesa's lap, and only realized it once the model's head was against her back. She blushed lightly, happy that Elesa couldn't see the bright crimson flush that took over her face. She felt her heart beat quicken, beating so fast it felt as if it would pop out of her chest. Thinking about the obvious pounding in her chest only made her flush more. Not wanting to think of reasons why the change in pace suddenly happened, the young pilot decided to think it was the adrenaline rush from flying after such a long time.

Feeling the plane fly a little higher, Skyla had a light look of worry on her face as Elesa tightened her grip. She turned slightly to face the model and hugged her. "I'm here for you..."

Letting her eyes close, Elesa could see her past flash before her, like an old movie. The memories that she made with the red-head was something she would keep and hold dear, and it was one of the few things she held onto to this day. After a few moments, she opened her eyes to find a blushing Skyla, and couldn’t help but laugh. The girl was still cute, even after all of these years.

"You were too..~" Elesa said in a teasing tone, a small grin going across her lips. “I can even remember you crying out… Oh Skyla! Help me..!~ These kids are being so mean to me!"

Though, the girl had leaned more onto Elesa, forcing her to lay flat against the back of the chair. Hearing her mumble, Elesa couldn’t help but let a small blush creep onto her cheeks. She was glad that someone cared for her. 

"T-Thanks Skyla.."

Hearing Elesa remind Skyla of how she would call out for help, the light crimson blush darkened. She laughed in hopes to push away the bit of embarrassment she felt. All embarrassment was quickly forgotten when Skyla noticed Elesa's blush. With a quiet giggle, Skyla nudged the electric type gym leader's arm. "Look who's blushing now!" She laughed again, pulling Elesa into another hug. "But you know, you're so cute when you blush!"

Skyla let go of Elesa and placed her arm over the girl's shoulders. "So!" She started, turning to look at the model. "Are you still scared?" She smiled, hoping that the model didn't mistake her concern for teasing. After all, she wouldn't want Elesa to be too scared.

Looking out the window, Skyla took a few seconds to figure out where they were and how close to their destination. She smiled, turning back to Elesa. "Well, whether you are or aren't, we're around half way there! You can hold onto me if you need to!" She smiled attacked the model with another hug. "Like this!"

Still embarrassed that she blurted it out so suddenly, Elesa still didn’t look over at her when she called out a pokemon to hold onto the yoke. After all, for someone like her, flying was nothing to her while the model was trying to hold everything in having a panic attack. 

Feeling a pair of arms wrapping her head, she was pressed against the woman’s body. She blushed more, but didn’t move as Skyla had tried to calm the girl down. The thought of it was kind, and Elesa was thankful to have such a wonderful friend like her. Then her movements changed to hug the girl around her shoulders. The blackette gave in, letting her long, pale arms wrap around Skyla’s waist, half clinging to her, half embracing her. 

“Thanks..” 

Replaying the last words in her head, Elesa couldn’t help but start to laugh. “You’re protecting me? That’s sweet of you. Do you still remember when I would have to beat up those boys for you back when we were little kids? You were such a cry baby~” She teased, holding her tighter.

Skyla smiled, feeling Elesa hug her back. She remembered always clinging onto her as a child, and remembered how Elesa would always calm her down with a hug. Skyla hoped to give Elesa the same type of hug, full of so much obvious care.

Hearing the light 'Thanks..' come from Elesa, Skyla smiled and nodded. She laughed slightly as Elesa brought up their childhood. "I was just remembering that. You'd always give me a hug afterwards!"

"You were such a cry baby~"

"I was not a cry baby!" Skyla blushed and shook her head, denying the fact. "Just because I would always come for you for help doesn't mean I was a cry baby!" Her sentence trailed off as she blushed more.

"And besides!" Skyla leaned into Elesa's hug, smiling while going so. "You've always given the nicest hug." She closed her eyes and gave a small, but happy sigh. "I'm fine being a cry baby if it means you'll give me these hugs."

Elesa watched as the redhead smiled brightly at her, seeming excited to take her up in her personal plane. As Skyla pulled the yoke back, she felt the plane start to ascend into the endless sky, and gravity start to pull down on them. This was a feeling that the blackette never felt before, and it made her stomach churn slightly, but was quiet about it. After all, it must be normal for someone to have felt what she was during her first real flight.

But it was when the plane was steady that Skyla had been joking about a  comment. 

“You know, you’re most likely to die in a plane than any other form of transportation. But I’m a great flyer, so none of my passengers ever have to worry!”

Turning her head towards Skyla, Elesa could barely hold in the fact anymore that she was scared, but fighting her fear for her. “S-Skyla..! T-That’s not something you should say to someone who is terrified of flying ..!”

And then she realized that she had admitted her fear to the girl, and it made her entire face go to the shade of a cherry tomato. Elesa turned her head away quickly, trying to hide it from Skyla who probably was star struck at the fact that she had such a silly fear.

“Ah.. W-What I mean i-is…!”

Skyla smiled as Elesa admitted her fear of flying. She had knew from the beginning, as she seemed flustered, but she wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth.

Moving her knee to the yoke, Skyla steadied the plane with her knee and slowly hovered her left hand over it while her right hand reached for a pokeball. With a quick beam of light, her Swoobat popped out and flew around Elesa. "Hey Swoobat, mind using Psychic on the yoke here?" Swoobat shook its head slightly before using psychic on the yoke to keep it steady.

Stepping off the chair, Skyla made her way over to Elesa and hugged her head while patting it. "You don't have to worry, Skyla's here~" Skyla smiled and cooed, still patting Elesa's head.

"Ah.. W-What I mean i-is...!"

Skyla giggled and patted Elesa's head again. "It's alright, it's perfectly natural for someone to be afraid!" Moving closer, Skyla wrapped her arms around Elesa's shoulders. "Just remember, Skyla's here. She won't let you get hurt!"

Looking around the plane, Elesa was surprised that it was bigger on the inside than what it’s appearance showed. “Are you sure I can sit here? The co-pilot is pretty important.” The blackette looked at Skyla, seeming unsure as she decided to sit there anyway. Then, the thought came into her head.

“Y-You aren’t going to make me fly a plane.. are you Skyla…?!”

After Skyla explained she didn’t need one, Elesa exhaled. If she was to drive a plane with Skyla.. boy, who knows how that would go. The model didn’t know a single thing about airplanes. If anything, it would have crashed to the ground, and she didn’t feel like learning how to skydive anytime soon.

Fidgeting with her seatbelt, the blackette looked at Skyla. It clipped in so many places, Elesa didn’t even know where to start. Thinking about it, was this really just a passenger plane, or some kind of tricked out plane in Skyla’s personal collection?

Once buckled in, she couldn’t help but smile, letting her know that she was okay. A blush going across her cheeks as she pointed out about her being scared. Elesa quickly took the headphones, putting them on as she tried to keep her eyes away from Skyla. She tested out the speaker, making sure it worked before their take off.

“Can you hear me okay? I’m ready for take off when you are..!” Elesa cooed, looking at her and giving her a salute. “Ready on your mark, Captain Skyla..~”

"Can you hear me okay?"

Skyla nodded, excited to start flying. She had always thought about taking a friend, especially someone as close as Elesa, out flying but never got the chance. Now that she was able to go flying, she felt pretty clueless. She remembered how to fly the plane, of course, but would she do what she normally did? Would too much movement scare Elesa? She definitely didn't want that to happen. The model seemed hesitant enough, Skyla wouldn't want to traumatize her!

"ready on your mark, Captain Skyla..~"

Skyla smiled, blushing slightly as Elesa saluted her, saluting her right back. "Alrighty then!" Taking hold of the yoke, she slowly shifted it, lifting the plane off the ground. As the plane flew up and out of the small forest that surrounded them, Skyla turned to make sure Elesa was doing fine. She wouldn't want the model to be afraid, after all.

If the model was scared, she was doing a much better job at hiding it than she was when they were on land. But Skyla knew by experience that most people calmed down once they were on air. She was never afraid of flying, but she knew that it was reasonable to be afraid, especially with how many accidents there were.

"You know, you're most likely to die in a plane than any other form of transportation. But I'm a great flyer, so none of my passengers ever have to worry!"

Smiling at her self compliment, which probably wasn't great to hear for someone first flying with her, she turned back to the sky. She flew the plane steadily, careful not to go too fast. Along with not going too fast, Skyla made sure the plane was straight and not wobbling side to side. Wobbling would definitely not help with her last comment.

Trying to hide her small fear, the woman just stayed quiet. Maybe Skyla wouldn’t pressure her about it if she didn’t ask about it, but after thinking about it.. Skyla was a flying type gym leader and this wasn’t something she could easily get out of. Elesa pulled the thought in again. Maybe.. just for her, she would get over her quiet fear.

With the flying girl twiddling with her thumbs and lowering her head, it made Elesa think. Was it.. something she said? She couldn’t help but smile at her. But the truth of the matter was, that her words were real and she meant every word she said about losing her. Surely  it wouldn’t be the same as before, Elesa would search high and low for her, but she wouldn’t tell her that just yet.

As she walked with Skyla, she took her hand involuntarily. It puzzled the model for a few moments, and realized it was just to make sure she wouldn’t fall behind, or if her fans swooped by that the two wouldn’t get separated. It was cute, she had to admit.

Offered to board Skyla’s plane, she nodded and took her hand, hoisting herself inside. The labyrinth of buttons surprised the young model. Did Skyla really know what all of these did.. and which were which? There was several that looks almost identical. But even then, Elesa trusted her friend with flying. It would be silly for a flying type gym leader to be bad at flying, right?

As soon as Elesa stepped in the plane, Skyla followed and hopped in herself. She closed the door behind her, making sure it was shut tight. She walked over to the pilot's seat, pushing a few buttons on the way. Sitting in the seat, she pointed to the co-pilot's seat. "You can sit here! Usually the co-pilot sits there, but I don't need one." Skyla smiled proudly, happy to show off one of her own talents.

Skyla smiled as Elesa sat down. "Do you need help putting the seat belt on? The pilot and co-pilot seat belts are more complex than normal passengers." Not waiting for an answer, Skyla took hold of her own seat belt. She buckled the belts around her thighs, then over her shoulders and connected the two together. She turned to Elesa, just in case she needed help. After all, Skyla hadn't really explained, she just showed her.

Once the seat belts were on, Skyla turned on the plane. "Although this is one of my personal planes and isn't for big crowds or cargo, it isn't meant for too many tricks. So I can't do any cool flips or anything." Skyla shrugged, not really caring. "But I guess it's a good thing. After all, I wouldn't want to make you scared." She smiled and handed Elesa a pair of headphones with a small microphone before putting a pair on herself. "It gets pretty loud up here. Even though we're next to each other, it'll be hard to hear without these on."

Dear Dad,

Hi. How are you and mom?

I know we didn’t have the perfect family, but I want you to know I appreciate all that you’ve done. Although you were sligtly more protective than mom, I’m happy to have you. You weren’t afraid to set boundaries although I would get mad at you. You were willing to have me hate you as long as I stayed safe. Thank you.

Well, I’m still a gym leader. I’ve made a lot of friends, some of which are also gym leaders. And there’s this great girl, she’s the best. She’s so supportive and kind.

Well, I think I may go visit you in Lacunosa Town soon. You can see my plane!

How are you? We finally got in touch again. I’m happy about that.

Now you don’t know this, but I couldn’t bare loosing you. I listened in on all of your interviews and watched all of your fashion shows. I even showed up to a few of them, sitting in the back.

I thought about you daily. Wondering how you were, hoping you didn’t get hurt. Did you think of me? I hope so. Just the thought of you not missing me… Well, it makes me sad.

The time that the pair spent talking was something that Elesa held dear to herself. Especially since the duo had not seen each other in the past two years when N was trying to liberate all of the pokemon from trainers. The time where the two of them fought majestically, side by side. Had two years really gone by? It didn’t feel like it, that was for sure.

After Skyla walked back into the room in her clothing, she suggested that they should head out. Taking a quick peek out the window to check for herself, she saw it was still daylight. 

“Flying?”

Boy. Did Elesa just feel a chill run down her spine? Sure, the model had fast roller coasters and the giant ferris wheel back in Nimbasa, but flying was a whole different scenario for the blackette. In all honestly, she had never gone flying before, even with all the years that she grew up with the red-headed girl.

“I mean.. I don’t believe I’m busy. And if I am I’ll just reschedule. After all, I can’t lose you again.” She looked at Skyla, giving her a small smile. Really, she treasured the friendship between the two of them. “Come on. Lets go.”

Getting up, Elesa talked to her manager before leading Skyla out the back door, hoping to steer away of the press or anyone who may interfere with their time together.

"Flying?"

Skyla nodded in confirmation, wondering if the model had not heard her. As Elesa continued talking, Skyla couldn't help but get the feeling that  the brave model seemed slightly-

"After all, I can't lose you again."

Skyla, blushed, completely losing her train of thought. Looking down and twiddling her thumbs, Skyla nodded quickly, followed by a short "Yea." Looking up slightly, Skyla saw Elesa smiling which only caused her to blush more.

"Come on. Lets go."

Skyla nodded, following the model out the back door. She figured it was to avoid any fans or interviewers. Thankfully, Skyla planned on going flying after her own modeling. She had arranged earlier for one of her pilots-in-training to fly the plane over.

Skyla took the model's hand and let her through grass and trees, avoiding the main path. Going through the trees was surprisingly much faster, as the main path had so many twists and turns going to the plane's destination. Passing two trees, Skyla walked into an empty spot surrounded by trees and right in the center was her plane.

Looking back at Elesa, Skyla giggled slightly. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were scared!" Opening the door to her plane, Skyla held her hand out to help the model step in. "But don't worry. I'll protect you."

She just had to agree to it, not that he was all that surprised. Cheren figured she wasn’t usually invited out for food, and he figured he knew exactly why. What kind of normal person would want to do all that to get to a gym?

But he supposed lunch couldn’t be too harmful. While he wasn’t entirely excited to be going out to eat with Skyla, it was better than nothing, especially considering on the days he wasn’t in school, he normally ate alone anyway. It was tough meeting up with people when normally living on the island part of the region.

“Is there anywhere in particular you would like to eat?” Not the smartest thing to ask to someone like Skyla, but Cheren wasn’t on the mainland much anymore and a lot of things had changed since then.

"Is there anywhere in particular you would like to eat?"

Skyla thought about restaurants in her head, thinking about new ones she hasn't been to yet. "Well, there is this one French place I haven't been to, yet. I heard they have Smoked Ox Tongue, Tripe, Sweetbreads, and all that stuff!"

Skyla winked before nudging Cheren's arm. Giggling slightly, she turned to look at him. "Don't worry! I won't make you eat there with me. I don't even know where it is, I just know what they have there!" Skyla smiled slightly, going back to her mental search of where to eat.

"I heard a new restaurant in Lentimas Town opened up. Apparently, they have variety of food and since the town is small, there aren't to many people. Thus being said, there won't be a long wait!" Skyla smiled, hoping all that would distract Cheren from the words to soon come out of her mouth. "Buuuuut, I'll have to fly us there."

“You’re quite welcome.” She softly replied, giving her a kind smile.

As the woman decided to take a seat across from the red head, her Emolga flew over and landed happily on her shoulder. “Hey there.” She giggled softly to herself, scratching him before she let her eyes wander back to Skyla. There was so many things that she wanted to ask her. Like, why was she so eager to do the modeling shoot? After all, the Skyla she grew up with could barely even stand in heels. Watching her struggle through the process just pained the poor girl.

Note to self; if Skyla is dragged in again, Elesa would be there in their shoot. Flats or boots looked much better on her than those silly heels that made her look like a hot mess. The woman took a few moments to picture what would happen if she didn’t interfere now with her new modeling career.

Shaking her head, she sighed. Once Skyla had returned from her change, Elesa’s manager had brought Elesa’s favorite tea for the two of them to share while reacquainting with each other.

“I hope that Jasmine tea is okay.” She asked, taking a sip herself as he crossed her legs.

As she came back from changing, Skyla sat back in her chair as a person brought in some tea. She smiled at the now leaving figure, who she figured to be Elesa's manager.

"I hope that Jasmine tea is okay."

Skyla nodded, smiling as her friend took a sip. "Oh yea, it's the best!" With all honesty, Skyla was never a big tea drinker unlike the other people in her hometown. Looking at the tea cup, she hesitantly took a sip. Not that bad... Pushing the thought out of her head, she took another sip and smiled at the cup.

The two friends socialized, mostly talking about their professions. Elesa went first talking about her modeling, then Skyla about her piloting, and then the two talked about their gyms. Layout changes, trainers, memorable challenges, the basic stuff.

A few hours passed and their tea was finished. Two women around her age walked in, handing Skyla her usual outfit. "Oh thanks!" As Skyla left to change into it, she noticed that it wasn't too late out. At latest, it was probably six.

Walking back into the room, Skyla sheepishly held her hand behind her head. "So, you know, the day's still early. Maybe we can hang out! I can take you flying, if you want."

"That is, if you're not busy, of course! I know you have a busy schedule! Well, I don't know, but you're a model so you probably do!"

Skyla laughed slightly, deciding to stop herself their before saying anything to weird. She practically admitted to watching Elesa, if she talked anymore Skyla would probably tell Elesa the outfits she wore the past week.

Of course, Elesa was still curious to how the whole situation happened. After all, why would Skyla come all this way out just to be visiting? She knew that Skyla loved the air, and could go flying for days without even realizing she had not eaten. Smiling to herself, firmly holding the red-head’s hand as she lead her gently out of the main room and off into Elesa’s private one.

“You’re more than free to take off your shoes. I think I can find something for you to wear. Knowing the designers, your clothes might be washing somewhere. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure to get them back for you.”

The blackette turned on her heel, moving herself over to her rack of clothing while her Emolga happily danced around Skyla, flying around. Obviously, it wanted to play with the bird girl. Know Elesa and her busy modeling schedule, the poor thing must have always been watching or playing with others. “You know..” She called, hoping the girl could hear her. “Emolga’s missed you. You should have come to visit sooner.”

Returning with several outfits picked out, she gently held them out to Skyla. Unlike herself, she knew her friend was more tomb boy in nature, and thus would wear more extensive clothing than herself.  

“If you don’t like anything I picked out, you can just go pick out anything from the racks. Though I must say that Altaria costume simply looks amazing on you.”

Skyla smiled as Elesa led her to the room. Whenever Skyla thought of Elesa's room, she imagined it have giant thunder bolts everywhere. Sure, there were a few small ones here and there, but it wasn't as over the top as she expected. And she liked that. Elesa's always had this calm side to her, despite the fact that she was a model and the whole journey to becoming one involved taking risks. She smiled, walking into the room and sitting down on an empty chair.

Skyla watched Emolga fly around her as Elesa explained how much she was missed. If she didn't know any better, it seemed like Elesa was trying to say that Emolga wasn't the only one that missed her. And that was one thing she was happy to hear.

As Elesa gave Skyla permission to take her shoes off, Skyla happily did so. Heels were so uncomfortable, it was a wonder how Elesa wore them so often. Readjusting in the chair to get more comfortable, Skyla watched as the blackette turned to a rack full of clothes. She found it interesting how the blackette would look at items of clothing before either shaking her head and putting it back or folding it over her arm. As Elesa offered the clothes to her, she looked through them. She decided to go with a basic outfit, instead of choosing something outgoing like her usual outfit.

"Though I must say that Altaria costume simply looks amazing on you."

Smiling, Skyla looked down slightly. Able to feel a slight blush on her face, the redhead decided to ignore it and hoped the blackette wouldn't notice. Looking up once the blush left, she smiled at her friend. "Thank you!"
