Ted and Andromeda
A short five minute walk couldn’t hurt right? Andi bit her lip and nodded. “Yeah sure we could take a short stroll outside. It’s not like you’re going to kidnap me or anything?” A short joking chuckle escaped her lips. Ted was obviously trying to lighten up the mood by making conversation, even though he sometimes fumbles on his own words and Andi couldn’t help but give an amused little smile at the boy’s effort. Although as much as she wants too talk to Ted about everything and anything, topics about her family isn’t really something she’d like to talk about.
"Well, they certainly aren’t fond of muggleborns. But to be honest, blood status doesn’t really matter, I think. Nobody’s blood is really pure because at one point or another it was tainted."
It was a rare moment of truth in Andi’s life. She has said it so many times that blood status hardly matters to so many people but never as direct as that moment and to somebody she hardly knows, nonetheless. She knows that if any of her family hears her it would be the end of her. She was lucky it was only Ted and her walking the lonely corridors. Maybe it was the trust that nobody would hear them that caused hear to finally say those words out loud. Or maybe it was the fatigue she felt that took over her brain. Whatever it was, Andi doesn’t want to have any of it.
"But of course, don’t tell anyone who is even remotely a pureblood elitist that I said that."
A long silence ensued and Andi just kept on walking, too trapped in her own thoughts to speak. Her mind kept worrying on what her parents would say if they heard her views or if they knew where her heart and her beliefs really stand. What would they do? What would they say? Would they shun her? And her sisters, will they accept her even though she’s lng gone from the family? Andi couldn’t bear the thought of it. She almost forgot that she was still walking beside Ted and then, a need to compensate for her sudden silence took over her.
"So Ted, is this new for you or do you usually take girls out for walks in the middle of the night and ask them on their views in political matters?" She jested with a light chuckle.
Blood status doesn't really matter. Did he hear right? Was this some joke? The answer stunned Ted. She had been raised the same way Bellatrix was, yet her view on this topic was the exact opposite. Everyone knew what Bellatrix was capable of, so Andromeda's view on the matter really did shock him. But then again, maybe she was more like her cousin than people thought she was. Maybe less rebellious and noisy.
"Why do you think that way? I mean, your family is anything but open minded regarding this matter. Except for Sirius, but you know yourself what it did to him. Not that I think you're wrong, by all means. I don't really care if you're pureblood, halfblood, muggleborn or half giant. We all die at some point, death doesn't make differences."
She was brave to say these things out loud. Ted had only heard of Sirius' story, she'd end up the same as him if people found out about her opinion. He certainly was the last one to spill anything. Especially since he was the last one any pureblood would talk to - that wanted to hurt her, at least. The corridor ended, leading to the quidditch field that laid in darkness by now. Turning around smiling, he scratched his chin. "Oh shoot, you found out about my harem of girls that I usually ask for a walk just to ask about political matters. Haven't you heard the rumors about me? I'll have to tell you, especially Slytherin Purebloods just can't get enough of me. Honestly - you're the first one. I'm pleasantly surprised."
