Ted and Andromeda
-
It was more than obvious that she was hesitant about his offer. Maybe it had been a terrible idea to ask her for a walk. Not only that they were to hate each other, or at least a one sided hate, but pureblooded families usually betrothed their kids at an early age. She was probably promised to someone already and by being asked for a walk, she might think wrong of him. He had heard of stories passed on through some of these families. How bad Muggles are and what theyâre capable of. Did she think heâd murder her? Probably not. Something that was far more realistic was her thinking heâs a complete idiot.Which was probably right, considering he was talking to a Black member right there.
"You donât have to, I mean iâd definitely enjoy your company but you know, the head works after the mouth. Iâm prone to talk without using my brain. Youâre probably busy? I mean, if you want to do it then thatâd be great. The school grounds are usually as empty as can be at this hour. Now with everyone either sleeping or throwing a party in the common roomsâŠ"
Smooth talking was definitely not one of Tedâs best skills; but he tried. Why did most of the things he said sound like he was about to kidnap her though? Well, he was certain she wouldnât be completely defenseless if that was the case. Sheâd hex his ass into a black hole without much effort. Tedâs best subject was Transfiguration and magic history, after all. But heâd definitely beat her in Quidditch, to save at least a bit of his pride as wizard - Muggle born or not.
"You know, just thought there are a lot of things we could talk about. Iâve never had much of a chance to talk to someone from a family such as yours. Sirius, of course, but he doesnât haveâŠa neutral view on it, you know? Iâm pretty sure both of our sides have heard only the bad things about each other"
A short five minute walk couldn't hurt right? Andi bit her lip and nodded. "Yeah sure we could take a short stroll outside. It's not like you're going to kidnap me or anything?" A short joking chuckle escaped her lips. Ted was obviously trying to lighten up the mood by making conversation, even though he sometimes fumbles on his own words and Andi couldn't help but give an amused little smile at the boy's effort. Although as much as she wants too talk to Ted about everything and anything, topics about her family isn't really something she'd like  to talk about.Â
"Well, they certainly aren't fond of muggleborns. But to be honest, blood status doesn't really matter, I think. Nobody's blood is really pure because at one point or another it was tainted."
It was a rare moment of truth in  Andi's life. She has said it  so many times that blood status hardly matters to so many people but never as direct as that moment and to somebody she hardly knows, nonetheless. She knows that if any of her family hears her it would be the end of her. She was lucky it was only Ted and her walking the lonely corridors. Maybe it was the trust  that nobody would hear them that caused hear to finally say those words out loud. Or maybe it was the fatigue she felt that took over her brain. Whatever it was, Andi doesn't want to have any of it.
"But of course, don't tell anyone who is even remotely a pureblood elitist that I said that."
A long silence ensued and Andi just kept on walking, Â too trapped in her own thoughts to speak. Her mind kept worrying on what her parents would say if they heard her views or if they knew where her heart and her beliefs really stand. What would they do? What would they say? Would they shun her? And her sisters, will they accept her even though she's lng gone from the family? Andi couldn't bear the thought of it. She almost forgot that she was still walking beside Ted and then, a need to compensate for her sudden silence took over her.
"So Ted, is this new for you or do you usually take girls out for walks in the middle of the night and ask them on their views in political matters?" She jested with a light chuckle.
