10+11? for the writing ask :D
Ahh thanks for sending me stuff!
10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
Oh, man. I have someone that I’ve written fic with, @dontfretbaby, but I also have a friend, @lokicorey, who I discussed writing an original story with, so I am torn. But given what month it is, I’ll mention the original one. I forget what it was exactly because it was a while ago, but it involved a bisexual love triangle where this woman was torn between dating a man and woman. It was much more complex than that and there was some kind of twist as well. We are both bisexual and I don’t believe in dating both genders or sexes at the same time if one is in a committed and monogamous relationship. It had potential if we ever actually worked out all the details.
11. Describe your writing process from scratch to finish.
Hmm, it can vary but it goes sort of like this:
It starts with an idea, which can come from something that happens in real life/canon or from a song (or in the case of Glee, filling in what is missing from canon or an AU of what has happened). Sometimes it’s an AU loosely inspired by a film (such as the Before Sunset films) or another TV show (such as Scandal).
I’ll write some notes on it (or if I’m really inspired, I immediately start writing). If it’s going to be a long fic, the notes are more detailed and sometimes there’s a plot outline (as in When We Were Young. It totally deviated from the outline though lol). Then I make a playlist that fits the tone of what I want to write either before I start writing or early on in the writing process. I revise the playlist as I go, taking away or adding stuff as needed if the tone or plot veers away from what I originally planned. I’ll listen to this playlist throughout the time time it’s a WIP, even when I’m not writing, causally in the background when I’m getting ready to go somewhere or when I’m the shower.
Update: I actually wrote a bit last night and I’m about to work on something for a little while. Hopefully I can get to a good stopping point.
I miss writing.
Oh, hello Tumblr. It’s been a while.
