She jumped in surprise and half turned to wrench out of the hold, giving another small shock at her attacker. She held her hands up, electricity crackling between them. When she saw it was Jackson, she didn’t move.

He made a low, quiet growl. His face reverted to normal. Both his vision and mind were foggy.
