As a fan of the Wreck it ralph movie since 2012
I am disappointed by the scarcity of Wreck It Ralph merchandise, especially toys, in the 2020s.
Instead of going all out on WIR merch, Disney has mostly chosen to relegate WIR stuff to Disney Pins, which are intended for older audiences.
For other types of merch other than Disney Pins in the 2020s, take a look at the official American and Japanese Disney Store pages for Wreck It Ralph.
Notice how there's only like 8-12 items, compared to the abundant amount of Frozen, Cars, Zootopia, etc items in Disney Store? Also note the RBTI merch. Yes, there's merch for that negatively-perceived sequel! (anyway the only new plushie available there is the Vanellope tissue holder, but it looks cute!)
The franchise has a lot of merchandise potential. As for dolls with realistic hair and removable clothing, we only got dolls of Taffyta and Vanellope and Calhoun, why not the other Racers and Fix-It?
I would have loved to possess a cute doll of Fix-It, whose hair I can stroke, and whose clothes I can change... Especially since he is my favorite WIR character, and my favorite Disney character period.
And this is the closest I can get to a Fix-It doll (I own that item now, don't ask):
Back then, merchandise for the Sugar Rush part of Wreck-It Ralph were marketed to little girls (scented dolls a la Strawberry Shortcake and all),
while merchandise for the characters of Fix-It and Wreck-It, plus the movie as a whole, were marketed to little boys.
If Disney wanted to market Fix-It and Wreck-It to little boys when the movie was first released, why not also market them to teenage and young women, especially since these two are really popular with the older female demographic?
King Candy / Turbo also included as popular with such demographic (too bad there's not a single official plushie of him!). #JusticeForKingCandy
Anyone can like a cartoon character regardless of their gender identity, you know!
There's still hope for more WIR merch...
The latest we have gotten to Japanese WIR merchandise was that Sweet Pop World campaign in Tokyo Disney back in early 2025. Heck, it even had a sorta adorable Vanellope plushie!
Maybe if that Tokyo Disney ride opens late 2026, we'll be able to get an abundance of Japanese and Chinese Wreck It Ralph merchandise, like from 52Toys, Pop Mart, Potdemiel, Good-Smile, etc.
Until then, let's keep our fingers crossed for more great WIR merch. (Or not.)
