Merry Christmas.
#DailySketch Itās a very Minion Christmas.
I love these little guys. Seriously. Animated movies have always had the wacky sidekick. Despicable Me raises the bar and has 100ās of wacky sidekicks. My son and I have a blast speaking in Minionese.Ā

Grace Murray HopperĀ (December 9, 1906 ā January 1, 1992) was an AmericanĀ computer scientistĀ andĀ United States NavyĀ Rear Admiral. A pioneer in the field, she was one of the first programmers of theĀ Harvard Mark IĀ computer, and developed the firstĀ compilerĀ for a computer programming language.Ā She conceptualized the idea of machine-independent programming languages, which led to the development ofĀ COBOL, one of the firstĀ modern programming languages. She is credited with popularizing the term ādebugging" for fixing computer glitches (inspired by an actualĀ mothĀ removed from the computer). Owing to the breadth of her accomplishments and her naval rank, she is sometimes referred to as āAmazing Graceā.The U.S. Navy destroyerĀ USSĀ HopperĀ (DDG-70)Ā is named for her, as was theĀ Cray XE6Ā āHopperā supercomputer atĀ NERSC. (from Wikipedia)
Sheās also the basis of the Google doodle today.
Happy birthday to one of my heroes and role models, RADM Hopper! May the women who follow in your footsteps be even close to as groundbreaking as you were.
Game of Thrones and Arrow crossover I want to see.

Cannes is the town in France where Bergman meets bikinis, and the art of filmmaking meets the art of the deal. In 1975, a group of expat Kiwis managed to score interviews with some of the festivalās emerging talents, indulging their own cinematic dreams in the process. They ended up with Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Werner Herzog, Tobe Hooper, Dustin Hoffman and Paul Bartel being candid, relaxed and amazing.

Kampai!
On Saturday, November 23rd, we went to the Miami International Book Fair in Downtown. We had the pleasure of meeting Paul Pope who was very gracious and cool to meet. He signed my hardcover of the awesome Battling Boy to our daughter, a future reader (at 7 months old). I just noticed wrote the wrong month, but I donāt care! He also gave us a signed copy of the poster he illustrated for the Fair. āTwas fun!
