One of the best things that Arcane Season 2 achieved in visual storytelling is to craft a language where white is evil.

if ur posting clips can u post the s1e8 bedroom scene pls 🙏
This was a fun scene! And a smart scene! Just like the bedroom scene in S1 where they subvert expectations. The same thing happens here, they subvert the audience’s expectations by having the two of them pick up exactly where they left off and picking up the old tone of their interactions.
The direction and editing here matters. Their ‘breakup’ is Vi holding Caitlyn’s hand while Caitlyn is trying to climb up from Jenna’s temple. In this scene, Vi is walking away and Caitlyn comes back down to where Vi is, pulls her hand back and now beats her/immobilizes her so that Vi comes back to exactly the same spot they were before. A fight interrupted. They pick up exactly where they left off. When they were both moving on assuming the other one hates them.
This took alignment in direction, editing, and writing and it is brilliant! As is their weird banter, the use of ‘cupcake’, how Cait is processing the scene/event.
I also want to be clear that Vi being hit on purpose by everyone she loves in season 2 is still extremely distasteful and extremely gross of the creators overall. But! This piece of story right here on its own is fantastic. A great example of subverting the typical ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I love you’.

I love going trough the notes every time bc there’s always someone in the notes insisting we’re all mean and that you can just wear thick dish gloves over your fake nails as if I wouldn’t assume you’re going to Patrick Bateman my ass if you walked into the bedroom with claws and yellow rubber gloves
