I actually had a lot of trouble deciding how exactly they would meet, until i came across some comment I had made earlier into the planning of this on how rats that reek of blood would lead the vampires straight (they are not) to Pyro and Owen so I used my own idea which was a joke originally but I ended up preferring that so much more than a random meetup at a bar or party where they lock eyes like some dramatic lovestruck drama and make out later.
This au is half angst and other half comedy and another half squeezed in there of every ship I could fit in
Might start first chapter soon since i got a week off of school

Everything I know about Red kingdom member P1-Katie
I'm trying to explain and recap things for people who want to get into Bannerfall but don't know what's going on or for people who want to know what's happening but don't have the time to watch everything.
(disclaimer I'm not completely up to date with everyone and I can't be completely thorough.)
Here is everything I can think of about Katie! (Katiegobrr)
Katie has A LOT of content to go through because she streams so often and for so long, so even though she's one of my top 3 I'm a little bit behind in some things. Katie has an animatic and a Spotify playlist for her character. She also has a vods channel on YouTube called KatieGoVods.
Katie is a knight from the red kingdom. She grew up in the blue kingdom with her older brother, who is Nom (Nominalgravy), and they trained as knights together. But from Katie's perspective Nom was always too far ahead of her. Always getting all the attention and the respect from their peers and the kingdom as a whole. She was always in his shadow, irrelevant and second rate in comparison. She couldn't find her own place in the Blue Kingdom with his presence always overshadowing hers, and never receiving the respect and appreciation she desired from her kingdom. She felt like she didn't fit in and wasn't happy there, so she left.
Katie left the Blue Kingdom around 3 years ago, and we know this because in the first stream Bek says she left 3 years ago and hadn't known Katie before then. Nom also was knighted after Katie which would line up with him being around 19 when he was knighted and Katie being 19 years old currently. Theoretically this puts Nom at 22 but this is all peiced together from improv and I don't know for sure.
Katie is technically a squire / knight in training because you have to be knighted officially to be a proper knight in occupation and this comes up several times as a point of conflict between her and Owain (owen's character) because he repeatedly points out that Katie ISNT a knight and that makes her upset. She feels like (I assume not explicitly stated) he's diminishing her position as one of the red kingdom's warriors and her ability to do her duty. It makes sense that she gets so defensive when he calls her out like that because she's always been kind of questioned as to her worthiness and capability, in her perspective. At least that's how it reads to me.
The first day for Katie starts with her in the sewers where she says shes checking out the damage from the battle. Later when the group goes down there to investigate some noise one of the blue rogues was making Katie mentions she knows her way around because she had been down there earlier patrolling and checking for damage. Apo genuinely praises her for this and it's kind of their first important interaction. Apo being a more experienced and confident knight with an important duty and title recognizing Katie for doing a good job as a knight is a pretty important character interaction for the first episode. And is kind of the very beginning of their later developed mentor/trainee arc. You can also guess that Katie doesn't get a lot of genuine recognition or praise because of how surprised and excited she seems to be.
She also meets Ser Bek for the first time, I believe she's the first one Katie talks to. At least from my perspective Bek seems like someone Katie really wants to prove herself to and show just how good a knight of the Red Kingdom she is. With Bek having just come back from a very prestigious knights academy and having already been serving the red kingdom long before Katie.
The other notable interaction from the first stream is when Shandrea gets lost and finds herself in the Red kingdom on accident. She clueless tells the red kingdom she's a blue member and they all tell her she must leave. Katie cuts in and declares that she will 'escort the prisoner away' and leads Shan to the bridge. Once out of earshot the two are friendly with each other and also kinda flirt with each other, talking about how they should get ale together some time. They agree to meet up in secret in the near future and part ways at the bridge. Shan then goes and becomes Queen of the Blue Kingdom like 20 minutes later and struggles super hard to get away from her kingdom so they can meet up because no one wants her to go off along now that she's Queen. Eventually she and Katie meet up again and have a little chat, oh my goodness you're the queen now, this is kinda crazy, Shan shows off her magic now that her staff is working by lifting Katie in the air with water bubble. Katie declares she's afraid of heights and Shan puts her down. But when they part puts her in another bubble to move her part of the distance back to the red kingdom and accidentally puts Katie in a tree. Messing around with powers yes, but also another time Katie isn't taken seriously. Of which there are many by many different people. I think they meet up a second time in week 1 but since then they haven't really furthered that plot point.
Uhm so after recapping stream one I'm thinking my over explaining might need more than one post. Apologies I don't know how to work in moderation and I only care about details
I can't speak for everyone but I'm nearly completely caught up on both Cherri and Apo and keep up pretty well with Katie's so those are my qualifications.

General backstory:
Blue kingdom is the original kingdom, Red kingdom went rebel and split off creating a rival kingdom so they're less fortified and tend to be more ragtag. The recent battle (a couple months before day 1) devastated both sides to the point where previous standings are irrelevant and both kingdoms are weak and need to be rebuilt.
There's only a few people on each side who survived the battle and most of the people are new to the fight if not new to the kingdom.
So far each kingdom has worked hard on rebuilding the damages so any major fights have been put off. But there's been quite a few scuffles and pranks and personal grievances.
Monarchs: I believe a new monarch is chosen every two weeks to give everyone a chance to be in charge, the in lore reason is that it throws off the enemy and the new ruler brings new ideas flowing quickly. First set was Shandrea and Cambam. Current set is Eloise and Cherrifire.
Here's a quick recap of things I know or have heard about each character:
Blue kingdom
Owen/Owain: Welsh, knight, not an original member. Traveled to the kingdom not too long ago (like a handful of month or something) and swore fealty to the kingdom. Grumpy, concerning, very comfortable with violence, might be purposefully hurting himself as atonement for something. LITERALLY NEVER TAKES OFF THE ARMOR. Probably bc of an oath. Rebuilt the training grounds, thinks Nom and Katie should/will have to kill each other. Uses a big ass sword with cat o Ninetails on the hilt.
Eloise: Avian species, swan, wind aligned mage. I haven't seen her pov but rumors are she and Ser Bek are having a secret affair. Or will. From blue but her parents didn't let her participate in the fights until after the recent battle. Moved out of her parents house for the first time to join the war. Started the Honk Honk Honk. Cherri's allay flew over two her house and she decided it was her son and now she and Cherri share custody of their little purple prince.
Nominal: Katie's older brother, grew up in the blue kingdom, one of the few people who actually survived and was there for the last battle. Broke his oath by refusing to kill 4C whom he was sent to collect the bounty of. He and 4C are like brothers now. Owain talked to him about having to fight Katie and I think he basically said that he would do anything for the kingdom but kill her. He seems like his biggest thing is trying to stay true to his kingdom but he won't kill people who he doesn't think deserve to die and that creates some difficulties. Haven't seen his pov. I think he and Scott low-key have a thing going. He gave Scott a flower and it was like a big moment. Secretly meets with Katie and they're slowly repairing their relationship.
Shandrea: water mage, new to Blue, arrived day 1 in the red kingdom on accident and was promptly threatened by everyone and escorted out by love Katie and then they decided they should be friends and meet in secret, which they did once or twice but Im not sure if they have more times. Has a oh no only one bed and they were roommates thing going with bf!Gracie. They flirt often. Known for being the big queen bc Scott made her massive. Had a royal sheep named Jeremy who died like last week right after he had a child. His grave is behind the castle. His death is also why there's a picnic and a heart in reds flower field, contrary to speculation it's not Bek and El.
Scott: Elf, plant and light mage, essentially sold to the blue kingdom as a soldier by his mayor. One of his parents is very very sick and probably dying but the mayor is a bitch about it and the other might be dead. Turns invisible when he gets scared or nervous or has nightmares. Which is often. Sweet anxiety angsty boy who collects flowers in his flower bag. Used to have a flower shop in his hometown and is building one here. Nom gave him a flower and he said no one had ever given him a flower before.
Maezes: Rogue, Might be an original member? Lived on the streets as a child and learned to become a rogue because of it. Bullied frequently. Stole Frogue's tadpoles out of his pocket like day 1 and now they are in a constant custody battle over children. Have not seen their pov.
4C: Blue slime as a species, can bounce when he hits the ground and spawns a frog light when licked by the Frogue. Which is a constant issue these days. Apparently where he's from everyone is a theif and a liar and that's why he's a rogue and people have a lot of assumptions about slimes. Was taken to the blue kingdom by Nom after he refused to kill them. Keeps finding ways to break the rules or exploit code or get into other mischief and has been visited by "the rogue god" (Owen) several times now and has to win farkle like 6000 times to save his soul.
Gracie: elf, knight, original member of blue, helped train Nom and Katie when they were growing up. Determined to flirt with everyone. Especially Shan. Unfortunately I don't know much about her.
That's all the blue kingdom! I'm also happy to go over the red kingdom or anyone specific in more detail if I can. There's also the cameo day for the jesters and the tavern and if you have any questions about farkle or what the trader is or the arena. But this has been a big enough wall of text and I forgot to eat any food today so I will have to continue later. But please! Feel free to ask, if there's anything else I can tell you about! I mostly follow Red kingdom members so there's a lot more I can say there but I could actually yap about Cherri Katie or Apo for ever so that would be a lot more words lol.

i honestly know nothing about the world building in bannerfall so the tavern and farkle (etc) are foreign concepts for me…

Twilight not only exists in book form in [Ambiguously late 1800s], but also has play adaptations. (Pyro e5)
Pyro had a pig plushie as a child (Owen e7)
Owen doesn't know what guns/bayonets are despite guns presumably existing circa 1600 when he would have been turned. (Owen e8) (Possible consequence of Owen having never been outside of Oakhurst? Maybe Oakhurst didn't have guns in Louis' time. Good for Oakhurst.)
The timeskip New York map has a 9/11 memorial but also both of the towers... Abolish stopped 9/11....
Scott dyed his hair bright blue only a few days before he was turned (Multiple POVs, multiple episodes). Which would have been at least 1500 years before 1800. Aka the year 300 CE. Which actually could have been plausible since the history of hair bleaching and dyeing goes back to BCE, including European records describing hair bleaching in approximately 60-30 BCE. I'd say idk how he got bright blue though but given Minecraft dyes that actually seems perfectly reasonable.
