Could you please make a post about a bard of life? (That’s the classpect of one of my favorite ocs :])
Sure! This will be a fun one as well, since Life can be really chaotic and unlawful sometimes, especially for our bard right here
(again, that's the only transparent image i have of a bard of life, thanks ultra clashpects wiki)
Bards are Passive Destroyers of their Aspect. This basically means that, unlike Princes who can destroy their Aspect on their own, our Bard depends on something external to destroy the Aspect for them. Could vary from a simple habit (Gamzee's religions and sopor pies) to someone else doing it for them (Cronus only had his hope destroyed when Kurloz came up to him and talked him out of it).
Life deals with something deeper than just Life itself: It talks about Power. Specifically, the Power to impose your own will and to not be limited by anything, ever. That's why it opposes the idea of Doom, the idea of Impotence, the idea of Obedience. That's why Life players are generally really wealthy, influential and powerful people, and why it also connects to things that give energy to us such as Food.
A Bard of Life would depend on something else to destroy Life for them, making them act more like a Doom player and sharing its motifs. Maybe they come from a really wealthy family, but they're being restricted of using all their fortune because of something else that's limiting it for them (Limitations), maybe their family/friends or themselves made a ruleset for them to follow to make them more socially acceptable (Rules), maybe they're too focused on obeying something or someone to act by themselves (Obedience), maybe they have a fear of the future/death that makes them more responsible of their decisions (Destiny), and many more possibilities.
Sidenote: Acting more accordingly to Doom doesn't necessarily mean our Bard will act all grumpy like Sollux did. Doom is more about Obedience / Impotence than just death and misery all the time, which is why it's the opposite of Life. This is specially true for our Bard right here, since as i will elaborate in the next paragraph, their main Aspect is actually detrimental to themselves and their team.
When writing a Bard the main thing you need to keep track of is that similar to what happens with Mages, their main Aspect is actually detrimental to them and their team in some way and Bards will always try to avoid it sooner or later, even after their "bard crisis". (Gamzee didn't become permanently closed off with Rage when he did his murdering rampage, he just switched all the Hope he had on his religion to focus on bringing Lord English into existence, so much so that he didn't even question himself when Caliborn immediately started shooting him as soon as he got in his way, keeping his blind trust until the end of the comic. A similar but more chaotic cycle happens with Cronus, that's always cycling between becoming ""self aware"" and entering in sudden bursts of rage and right after that going back to Hope because he does a really bad job avoiding Hope lmao)
What does this mean is that Life is detrimental to them in some way, and when their mechanisms for avoiding it get destroyed or inacessible, that's when their negative aspects will come to light. Our Bard could have a tendency to become really abusive given enough Power to them, or maybe they could become so unlawful that they start causing trouble to everyone around them, maybe they quite literally don't enjoy their Life and this results in them being really depressed about it when they're forced to live it, etc. Like i said, the Bard Crisis harms everyone, themselves and others.
My warning about Bards that you've already seen before: Bards aren't completely irredeemable people that once they get caught in a crisis they're a lost cause that should be expelled from their team as soon as possible. A Bard's crisis doesn't last forever, and frankly it's not even the thing you should fear the most about them. What made Gamzee irredeemable wasn't the fact that he had his Rage crisis, what made him unpredictable and untrustworthy was when Lil Cal and Lord English started to confort him (AKA. Destroying his Rage), making him trust (keyword of Hope) more on them than his previous friends. Same goes for our Bard of Life, that will sooner or later recover from this crisis of theirs and will start to look for something else that avoids Life for them. Help them find a healthy and favorable way for them to avoid their Aspect, and you're completely safe.
At last, for Powers they would embody the idea of Destroying Through Life for others. They could phisically degrade things and people by using pathogens (literal Life), similar of what the stand Green Day does in JoJo's Part 5, they could use their wealthiness to destroy things around them (For example, they could use their grist/boondollars to destroy things around them, either literally like a grist bomb or metaphorically like a paywall) (Wealthiness), they could use their Force to destroy things around them (Power), they could glitch Sburb out and using exploits to destroy/erase things (Disobeyance), and many more possibilities.
Last sidenote: I don't believe a Bard necessarily has to always enter their Crisis to use their powers. Gamzee was reported being the one who did the most damage to the Dersite King in his session, and he also started to use his rage as an effective defense mechanism in [S] Game Over, without necessarily entering a *true* Rage crisis.
