Big GoT Spoilers!!!!

Ok, so, like every other jagoff alive at the moment, I have some thoughts.

1) For everyone already writing off the show due to this last season there are a few things you should keep in mind.

We were never going to get an ending that would be satisfying to every storyline. It’s fucking nearly impossible with the weight of the story that’s being told. The narrative has been driven from so many perspectives that we are deeply rooted in with our sympathies, and there’s no way that all of those characters get an ending that we collectively think they’ve earned. Some of these characters need to fuck up, and fuck up horribly. Jaime going back to Cersei tracks because it was literally his entire life. He’s spent so long convincing himself that nothing was important but here that even when he’s presented with an opportunity to really change, he convinces himself that he can’t. Dany always ran the risk of losing herself to the Targaryen madness. Between her brother, her father, and even her ancestors like Maegor the cruel; we always risked losing her. It’s awful that we have, and there may never be an explanation that will satisfy those actions, but I don’t know that I agree with people saying it’s entirely out of character. It’s on the extremes for her character, but it was always a threat.

2) Most long running television shows end up with dissatisfying endings. Remember the Sopranos? Dexter (that was a nightmare). Even shows like the West Wing. I will still count this show as the greatest I’ve ever seen because the overall arc of the show was so incredibly engrossing that I never wanted to leave that world. What ending would have satisfied you if you’re honest with yourself? Dany and Jon get married everyone goes along with it and we’re all cool? Jaime married Brienne, Cersei dies cleanly by Arya just magically popping in with Qyburns face to kill her? Jon never leaves Ghost and claims winterfell to be king in the north?

That last one is pretty fucking cool. But seriously. No ending could ever satisfy what we’ve built in our heads with this world.

3) This opens the door for so many epic stories to be told through television and film. It’ll lead to a lot of garbage attempts at Ren-fair level bullshit, sure. But we may just get another sprawling epic that we can fall in love with and get obsessed all over again purely based on the success of Thrones.

Im not saying that anyone doesn’t have the right to be upset or even outright pissed. I spent the last forty minutes of that episode in one long, lung-cracking “what the ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck”. But at the very least appreciate that we ever got something this badass in the first place.

I’ve been writing songs for 12 years now. I’ve never actually fucking released one until about a week and a half ago.

It’s nerve-wracking for me to put anything I’ve made out and let other people hear it. For as much as musicians and artists are “supposed” to have the attitude of: “well I love it, so if other people don’t I don’t give a fuck.”. I give a fuck. I want people to enjoy the things I’ve made. I don’t want to be the person trying to pretend that people’s opinions don’t mean anything at all to me. No ones opinion will make me change my art, but I try to make things as a way of connecting to other people. Trying to feel around and see if anyone else feels like this.

My personal take on it? EVERYONE is entirely fucked. This won’t end well for anyone at all. So for as long as I’ve been playing guitar, one of my favorite things to do is just making a sound that feels huge without a ton of volume. Anxiety Question

Does anyone else have that incredibly annoying anxiety moment when you’re talking to someone and they take longer than 30 seconds to respond and you immediately start wondering if you’ve said the wrong thing, done something wrong, etc?

I’ve had that since I was a kid and it’s probably the most routinely effecting symptom of my anxiety. I definitely need to learn how to cope with it but fuck.

And god forbid someone forgets to text me back. I just assume, after about six hours, that the person hates me forever now.
