The enthrallment of being given the opportunity to have a few shows lined up at a hotel in the city was what he had desperately needed, craved, though at the same time it wasn’t where he wanted to be. It was surprisingly difficult to get a step further in the direction that he wanted to go and even though this was a chance he wouldn’t dare give up, that didn’t change the fact that playing songs for for very differing age groups who more than likely weren’t interested in his music wasn’t where he envisioned himself. When the small set ended, he ventured to the bar and a drink or two later, he wandered out back for a breath of fresh air. There didn’t seem to be any harm in hanging out back when not a soul was in sight. And he could go for a quick smoke, which was what had been intended when he took a seat against the brick wall of the building. It was a habit of his, something that had come natural to him, but that short moment seemed to come to a pause when he heard a voice coming from the distance. “Shit.” He murmured under his breath, as he was making a quick effort to get up, which only caused him to almost stumble, the sound echoing right against the dumpster and the silence in the air evaporated instantly. “— I didn’t think anyone would come out back here.” He rubbed the back of his neck, hues falling onto the girl he had startled, almost apologetic in the sense that those weren’t his intentions, though the other half of him was slightly amused. “Is it also part of your job to patrol the area?”
As soon as her eyes caught a glimpse of the familiar figure, she let out a sigh. Whether it was a sigh of relief, frustration or happiness was difficult to tell. “What are you doing here?” she asked, ignoring his question. “Hoping if you stay long enough they’ll ask for an encore?” A small smile spread across her face as she stepped closer to the man. “I haven’t seen a show of yours in a while; you still any good?” she teased, leaning against the brick wall with her arms crossed.
