To provide further context from what I understand the bill wanted to take the rights guaranteed to the Maori in said treaty and expand them to all New Zealand citizens. The issue with that is that it sort of defeats the point of the protections of the treaty.

What a difference 44 years makes juxtaposition of International Harvester Scout, 1980 and Scout Traveler Prototype, 2024. IH retired their Scout range in 1980 after a production run of 20 years. VW in the US has revived the Scout brand for a new electric SUV that will go on sale in 2027. The new Scout SUV uses advanced 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing the BEV variants to travel up to 350 miles (563 km) on a single charge, or more than 500 miles (805 km) in range-extender form.
