I’ve had this song for a little while and really love it. I only recently started watching Black Sails and realized that that’s where the main theme of this track comes from. I love the sort of rough and ugly sound, but then Haterade fills in with some rich, clean synth. I especially love the second verse where the synth lead steps up.

Watched Citizenfour today and this is the song for the credit reel. I’ve always appreciated a bit of NIN, but in the context that the movie provides, it makes this track almost chilling. I love how raw it is. It’s super applicable to the idea that we’re in a digital war for privacy.

Not quite sure how I stumbled across these guys, but they have some pretty solid songs. It’s a little on the indie pop scene (kind of an oxymoron, but it’s a thing). However, I really like it a lot because it still feels pretty pop punk to me. This song really gets me pumped up. I love the singer’s voice. Especially during the chorus when he does the little modulations. The breakdown gives me goosebumps.

Freedom, Rage Against The Machine

I’ve listened to Rage for quite a while now, ever since I was 15 I think. However, I had forgotten that they existed until recently. I rediscovered them today and couldn’t help but run through the whole discography and play my favorites. Tom Morello has some of the coolest riffs of all time, and I love the whole funk rock feel. I love a lot of the “crunchy” filters they use on the guitars, and of course enjoy a bit of the anarchist shouting.

I am under the impression that just about anything that Griz and Big Gigantic make together will be nothing but solid gold. These two have been the power players of my Funkno genre love. I love the big band horns in the fill up to the drop and simple lead that fills the verse. Of course I also love the sax; especially around 2:15 when there are two in tight harmony.

Griz iz one of my more favorite artistz. This song has such a killer vibe, I’m always jamming to it in the car or during a workout.

Found this one on my Beartooth radio; I didn’t every give Asking Alexandria too much of a chance because I didn’t like all that I had been exposed to. But I’ve found that if I listen to a song before I look at the meta data, then I’m more inclined to like it.

This one is pretty cool; I like that they use the more throaty scream as an accent in the back ground. The break down at 2:35 is also super cool. I love the resolution to the really clean, raw guitar riff, and then the percussion is super sharp as well. Just really well executed.
