@dr-argyle: Argyle snorted discreetly before turning to Byron composing him self into his usual gentlemen mannerism. “ Pray except my apologises master Byron for the informal outburst but we can disgust the next stage…“ At that point Argyle leered in slightly giving a whisper hand gesture with the left set of his spindly claws. “ …It be best to discuss the in-depth details back in my office would rather keep the specimens in the dark till the surprise is ready.”
Once the ghoulish party left the room leaving Clover and Beatrix for some long overdue peace and some form of respite. “Hey Clover would bad of me to ask if I could keep this little guy? He did stood up to Spinel so he could stay with us. Argyle doesn’t really seem to care about it hanging out with us?” The slog pup tilted its head almost as if was looking at Clover with a pleading look as it snuggled up to Beatrix.

Byron simply watched the events unfold, barely raising an eyebrow when the slog yanked Spinel’s baton out of the slig’s hand. Not exactly promising results on the obedience front, there, but… it was a prototype, and even the most obedient slog still needed training before it’d understand commands. Besides, if Argyle did manage to fuck up the project, there was nothing stopping Byron from finding somebody else to carry out his plans. It would be a setback, yes, but not the end of the world, and certainly not his loss in the long run.
He, Gus and Ricky followed Argyle out of the chamber and back into the main office.
“The next stage of the project is almost certainly going to be… difficult, but of course, I expect you’re up to the challenge. Now that you’ve demonstrated that you can make these kinds of alterations with precision, I’d like you to do something a little less superficial than simply changing skin colour. A full brief, plus your contract, will be sent along with your pay bonus for this round of testing.”
Back in the cell chamber, Clover turned weakly to look at Beatrix. He was hardly fond of the idea of a slog hanging around, but fuck it, life couldn’t exactly get much more miserable than it was now.
“Sure. But… don’t get too attached.” Clover paused to clear his throat a little before continuing. “It’s a test subject, and they care about slogs even less than they care about us. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes it back and turns it into a snarling brute like the rest of them.”
The vykker doctor despite the recent events, he stood a calm gentleman stance by his desk, whilst addressing Byron.
" Much as that demonstration was unconventional I was kind of hoping that slog pup would get attached to subjects Clover and Beatrix since it'll make it much easier to convert them into the next phase of the experiment in due time of course. After all they were quite feisty under your employment? That was before I begun the first phase of the experiment."
Argyle narrowed his amber eyes darkly yet his composure was still within borders of a charismatic gentleman. He gave a low and cruel chuckle before he suddenly snapped his clawed digits.
"Oh! That reminds me..." Argyle waltzed round his desk before he took out a vhs cassette out of the top drawer promptly placing it upon the desk.
" I took the privilege making a copy of your previous employees first phase experiment I hope its to your taste in even if it is on a documentary level master Byron."
Iolite took the vhs tape from Argyle's desk before she handed it over to one of Byron's sligs.
"Tell me sir what exactly is this difficult mystery project you wish me to work on? It already intrigues me." Said Argyle as he casually parked himself at his fancy desk whilst resting his chin under one set of clawed hands. While one clawed hand from his secondary set of arms...took a beverage from Iloite as she wheeled in the brass drinks trolley parking it by the desk.
The two mudokons blissfully ignorant in the cell chamber whilst the sinister plans were in motion in the office behind walls several layers thick.
Beatrix glanced up at Clover with a sad smile. " I know, I know...but for now just any form of respite is better then nothing while stuck in this hell hole. I much as it grates me to admit this. I kinda regret us pissing off Byron... cuz as of now seems a damn saint in comparison to that venomous bastard Argyle." Beatrix discreetly gritting her teeth before slumping with a solemn grumble. "I should try stop remembering our old home. But I can't help wondering what happened to Zolin after we got caught when the industrials flattened our village?"
Beatrix lightly snapped of her train of thought as the slog pup laying on its side, stretched in its sleep huddled up beside Beatrix. "I think might call this guy Howlite after the one gemstones that use to be found in the village mine... Since he kinda looks like Howlite colouring wise though he is kind of odd his most of his skin tone is charcoal but his muzzle is white with charcoal splashes?"
