Did you get an interesting message during your conversation with Lewis?
Sort of. I had noticed something of interest.
I left a little message on my phone for them to read.

How good is YogLabs security in the vents if I might ask? I doubt you guys didn't hide some feature to protect against attempted intrusions through them.
Well, we don’t have any cameras in them, but there are methods of scanning the whole base, and that does cover the air vents as well... but that’s more of a automatic thing you have to manually implement... even then, my clone likely would have turned those systems off or delayed their timers until much later in the night or early morning.
The vents crawl through the halls and into many of the rooms in Yoglabs, you’d have to be batman to not be heard by anyone nearby. They are basically narrow metal echo-chambers after all.
Is that.. a pair of your clone's goggles you've got there, sir??
What makes you say that? These are my goggles.
I do like that he kept the name “Strife Solutions”, it’s very clever!
Remember when this blog required a password? Good times
Yes that was quite the annoyance to get rid of... censorship team and all that, they do like their secrecy... but I rather enjoy letting people in to see my work.
Besides, I’ve seen Miss Evans’s little comic posts with me in them, so I’m hardly a big Yoglabs secret anymore.
I do like that he kept the name “Strife Solutions”, it’s very clever!
Do you know anyone by the name Ridgedog?
You mean Steven Ridgedog? Isn’t he the mayor who works for Lewis?Scrap that, just looked it up. Seems Lewis got rid of that guy a month or two ago. Guess he finally noticed the change in Lewis’s demeanour and finally rebelled.
Took him long enough... though, a smart man would have known not to fight back against such shadowy figures like Lew Lew.
Has any of the clones ever tried to remove their chip to escape?
For an experiment, I did give it a go once, just to see if it was possible. My next memory was waking up in the stasis chamber. It had fried the shell’s brain perfectly! Painless and informative!
Now I have that memory, even a defect wouldn’t be dumb enough to try!
Can you feel if one of your clones has died? Or just in pain? Can you tell if the Lalnable clone is dead?
No nothing so invasive. I got a notification on my phone that his memories where ready for transfer. You see, All clones have microchips which monitor the usual life signs, the shell constructor makes the clones with them inbuilt. When the chip detect the body is dead, they upload all relevant information to the archives and fry the brain for good measure. Don’t want any rogue clones getting away due to faulty equipment.
How long has the cloning been going on? I mean, it must have some effect on you to have clones join their memory with you, just how long and how many has it been?
I am not dumb enough to keep count of how many times myself and the others have died, unlike Lewis who for some reason used to bury the empty shells. It isn’t healthy.
Its been… uhh… i’m not even sure how many years now. I know it was like… A little while after Lewis and Simon beat the shadow… I think I finished the first version of the Shell Constructor around the time Server was founded.
I’m pretty sure I’m more lethargic then I used to be… though I feel that’s irrelevant to the cloning. My lethargy has more to do with the loss of magic in our world…. or it might just be due to my poor sleep schedule. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If Lalna, your clone that is, where to die and be uploaded only to be replaced again, wouldn't that mean they'd know that you weren't in stasis anymore? O would that part of their memory be... removed.
er... well... I am failing to see the problem here. Obviously the next clone would know I was up and about during the time the “Lalna” and “Lalnable” clones where around. Its never really been a problem before. I’ve even seen my own body in stasis through the eyes of a clone. Each and every one of my clone’s memories so far share my thoughts on the matter; So long as I, the master clone, lives, it doesn’t matter what happens to any of my shells. Death doesn’t matter anymore.
What are you drinking when you're talking with Kim? Just a coffee?
It was just a Flat White actually. It’s coffee flavor is a bit sweeter then the usual and it’s very smooth to drink. I was actually going to write a coffee log blog, with that one being my drink of the day, before I spotted dear Miss Sounds outside and decided to join her.
Very lovely lady, lots of sass and fire, and with a great sense of humour! I greatly look forward to when my clone’s memories come in. Personality wise, it seems like she’d make a very good assistant for me, but I would like to know more about her work ethic and morals… Since my last assistant lost her nerve and threw herself off a bridge. Annoying.
“This is the paradox: Are you still you?” - Dr Lalnable Duncan Jones, Freelancing Scientist of Yoglabs.
Ignoring his height (which is over 6ft), Lal appears nonthreatening and rather unimposing. Either from apathy or laziness, he prefers to sit and work in the background while Xephos gets all the fame and infamy for his inventions.
He shows outwardly for the most part a rather reserved, easy-going demeanor. He’s a nice guy. Who wouldn’t like him? This nonchalance however hides a wicked intelligence that makes up the mind of the true mad scientist. I’d say more… but that would be spoilers. :)
I was wondering there that photo went.
I believe it was taken in the middle of one of my video lectures to the main facility...
Just some Lal doodles while I work on the script~
I did request Miss Evans to change the dialog between me and Lewis to something a little less.... well, “redact-able”.
We settled on the coffee machine joke.
Did lalnable....die?
I didn’t die-oh wait you mean the clone.
It gets really bothersome sometimes. My full name is Dr Lalnable Duncan Jones, after all. I shorten it down to Lalna or just Lal, and my friends, like Lewis & Simon, call me Duncan. It... does get confusing when we add clones into the mix who all share my name...
Onto the question:
Yes, “Lalnable” the clone died. He broke his neck on impact with I presume the ground after having his arm and part of his leg sheared off from the Ender Rifle backfiring. His memories have been uploaded to me, confirming his expiry. I’m rather glad the fall killed him. Suffocation and/or burning alive isn’t pleasant...
Ah yes, before I get back to work. I have to say thanks to @thatweirdanonymous and @at0micfissi0n for your concern. I had some soup suggested by at0micfissi0n and I feel much better after it. I’m fine now, thank you.
...I’ll just answer a few more questions before I get back to work. It’s so nice to see there are others genuinely interested in my work.
:)
