Coming off anon to say this. I care a lot about the assassins guild characters and they ignite deep passion in my soul. Seeing the narrative shoot them (specifically Millia and Zato. Venom's arc is well done in my opinion.) 47 times in the chest (for... conciseness? I guess? To focus on the "the world is ending" plots?) brings me real pain we could have done one hundred million billion more interesting things with them. They took theae beautifully complex characters and completely and utterly reduced them to one thing.

In my head I am rescuing them day by day.

Top ten things that will never happen but society if Zato-one never spoke with Millia literally ever again and instead was allowed to have a very nice and long conversation with Eddie. FUCKING DEVELOP THEM. THEY ARE QUITE LITERALLY GLUED TOGETHER. But no I guess focusing on his relationship with the woman who he fucked up and who hunted and killed him for good reason and nullifying that whole part of her is more important. Sure. The side stories would literally be the perfect vessel for allowing this kind of development but of course arcsys didnt know that would be a thing in like xrd when he was brought back. Im clawing at my walls.

I care about guilty gear. I care about these characters. This is why I GIVE THIS MUCH OF A FUCK about how they were treated. You ever think about how Baiken kind of sort of represents what Bedman wanted Ariels to be? Both him and Delilah could've gotten what they wanted without help, but they're kids and kids want nothing more than for someone to help guide them. While Baiken sincerely wanted Delilah to grow up to be a "decent adult" the Universal Will didn't care about what happened to Bedman at all. Where Baiken was willing to let her guard down and ask for help when Delilah was in danger, Bedman scared away anyone who would've been willing and able to help him in the process of carrying out Ariels's orders. And Baiken gave up her goals for Delilah while Bedman died for the Universal Will's... do you get me
