It's not like neither of them are aware the whole draconic themeing Raihan leans into as a gym leader is, well, a fair bit more than just an act.

Hell, Leon and Sonia are the ones he made sure knew, above anything else.

But being aware of something and knowing everything about it were two very different things. So when he starts getting an itch under his skin and the urge to drape himself across his best friend/crush and growl at people who get too close, he has an idea of what might be going on, but it's still an incredibly embarrassing surprise it's started happening out of nowhere in the first place. His dumb dragon instincts want to court Leon. He's a little bit horrified. Suppressing it is a waste of effort. It just makes him miserable and builds up until he finds himself in something like his present situation; Standing way more into the shorter man's space than he reasonably should be, a few inches shy of leaning his chin on his shoulder and biting his cheek to hold back a purr as Leon twists the gift he'd bought him around in his hands. It was a decorative luxuaryball, bright and shiny, inlaid with gems and made from precious metal. Leon had mentioned something about getting a desk decoration, and while Raihan is almost positive it was more of a joke than anything, his brain decided to run with the idea and- Well, it was a good thing gym leaders got paid well.

Wait, what?

Everything had happened so fucking fast, Raihan is sure for a second he must still be processing, blinking dust from his eyes, ears ringing from the shockwave of the pokeball blasting back open. He must have heard wrong, must be seeing things.

He'd ran after Leon, of course he had, the others could handle evacuation and all the chaos, but no fucking way in hell was he leaving his best friend to handle some clearly powerful, rampaging beast of a pokemon on his own.

He'd been about to make some snarky comment about trying to catch the thing in plain old pokeballs, a weak attempt to elavate some of the choking tension of the battle they were facing, when the most recent attempt at containing the weakened monster had literally shattered on them, blowing Raihan back with the force and blinding him for a moment like a flashbang.

"What the 'ell are you doin'!?" He'd snapped as his vision started to clear, but he hadn't been expecting the answer he'd gotten, one that gave him pause and sent shivers down his spine, awakening something primal that screamed wrongwrongdangerthreat.

It...sounded like Leon. Looked like him, mostly.

Except the tone echoed, almost staticy, like there were two people talking at once. Except there was something like an afterglow clinging to his skin, something not quite the same about the colour of his eyes.

Everything familar felt like it was suddenly slightly to the left, it made Raihan feel dizzy and sick from the sheer feeling of somethings not right.

The words sink in, the implications soon follow, and Raihan is swallowing back bile as he's struck with the awful thought of 'Which one of them said that?'

Because he realises with nasuating clarity that Eternatus is gone.

Except it's not.

Leon is gone.

Except he's not.

Something is standing infront of him that's both, yet feels like neither at once.

"..What....?"
