make plausible-sounding reports for things that don’t actually exist, so that they actually have to waste time/resources investigating false leads - the goal is to waste time they would otherwise be using to do their jobs, not to get tumblr clout for being an epic troll

So apparently the internet article said the superintendent wouldn't be deterred by the prank calls because they would 'taper off eventually'. It'd be a real shame if this post stayed in circulation via queues so they get a consistent list of prank calls to filter through. 😇

So my fanfic writing roots are, as you may be able to tell from my blog/AO3 name, in Doctor Who. Specifically, I got into fic writing for the express purpose of writing a fix it for the end of David Tennant’s time as the Doctor because I was rewatching (in 2018) and I was FILLED WITH RAGE about what he did to both Rose and Donna.

So anyway, I ended up writing a fic called Mending the Rift (Doctor/Rose, teen, 13K) which is… fine? I reread it recently out of curiosity for how my writing has changed, and I thought it was decent (and i stand by my rage), but I definitely think my Harry Potter work is better than my Doctor Who work. I think that’s probably from a combination of things: practice, obviously, because my fiction writing was very sporadic up until that point, but also the community aspect that the Drarry fandom has that I never found in Doctor Who. It might be that it exists and I was just looking in the wrong places, but regardless, I never had a beta reader, and I did a couple fic exchange things but I’m pretty sure I just stumbled across them on tumblr. Also, it wasn’t until I was several fics into Drarry writing that someone suggested I write an outline? It seems like common sense, but I just… had never written that way. So I think the writing I do now is much more coherent, overall.

Anyway! That was a hell of an essay, so if you read it, you rock and I love you. Gonna tag @mxmaneater @thejadewritergirl @apr1cots @crimsonhead-ache if you feel like it!

My fanfic writing roots go back pretttty far ngl, but it started with HP, back in I would say...2007ish (yikes). I wrote a little bit of Harry/Hermione, as they were my first ever ship in any fandom (minus Anya and Dimitri from Anastasia lmao). But I feel off the writing wagon for a bit and got back into fandom in 2013ish with the MCU universe, and wrote a few fics there! (don't go looking for these, as I have successfully taken them off the interwebs.

Then I found myself falling off the wagon once more, until COVID hit, and I found a lovely little discord community/tumblr folks who shipped Drarry. At first I was like 😨 which slowly turned into 🥰🤡 lmao.

My first Drarry fic is called this is me trying and I would like to think I have improved since then, but probably not haha. I do enjoy writing Drarry though, more so than any of the other ships in the past, and I think the community here is a huge part of that! 💚
