Another one of my mini-pet peeves with fanfics is, specifically with Rise, kinda the overuse of nicknames? Moreso it feels like some people only make them refer to each other by names that aren't used nearly that often. "Michael," "Miguel," "Nardo," etc. It's small but it still kinda bugs me haha.
OH MY GOD YES💀💀 right along with “baby bro” if i see that I instantly cringe. even in thr show i cringe but fortunately it’s not used as much in the show. but omg there’s some fics where it’s very overused. “Nardo” bothers me the most for some reason, follwed by “Donald”
yeah! like I went through the whole show and recorded who says what nickname for this reason, to write it more accurately, and it is almost always Raph/Donnie/Leo/Mikey over any other nickname. “Miguel” and “Nardo” for instance were only ever said once. the only nickname that did really get used more than a couple of times was Mikey calling Donnie “Dee” and even then it’s only about a quarter as often as he calls him “Donnie”
