I’m probably not going to be the first one to make a post like this, but with the introduction of betta fish familiars, I want to make a really important PSA.

Betta fish don’t live in shallow puddles, they live in large rice paddies.

Additionally, betta fish need heating and filtration and plenty of space just like any other fish. Even wikihow, of all places, says not to put them in bowls and recommends filtration and heating.

Whatever the workers at petsmart or petco told you is wrong. Those little .5 gallon betta cubes are bad. Cycle your tank before you put a fish in it. Betta fish can live years and become lively and vibrant if taken care of properly.

Pls love ur fish. Always research! And don’t believe the myths.
