Furudate Haruichi is a boss at character design and development. He’s defo one of the best and a personal favorite.
I never paid a lot of attention to Asahi in the anime but now that I am taking my time reading the manga I am appreciating how Furudate shows the level of depth Asahi has beyond “he looks scary but is actually the opposite.”
Asahi is actually a deeply emotional, nostalgia-driven softie who happens to be really tall and is able to hit the ball really hard. I have to say I fcking love him.
