Weekly GM Update 20/11/15

Hello Hunters! We hope that you have plenty of fun with checking out our new Patch2. As you probably know this was our main focus this week. 

Here is the weekly GM Update! 

Most of us have been focused on testing the latest patch and we are really happy that now there are even more rewards to get from additional quests. We are also proud that we have delivered some nice bug fixes... and have you already joined a battle in the Dragonrider's Vale? If not, have a look at the latest patch notes. Here you will find all the detailed information about the latest content: the Vale, the new quests and the new, awesome Guild Boss. More Good News! We are so happy that Tora joined our GM Team.This week she was helping us out a lot with creating new event ideas together with Reeds and Morgoth. Soon our Events Calendar will be full of action and rewards. Tora has also distributed hundreds of the badges from our forum Events You may also have noticed that now we have plenty of additional items, pictures and gifs in our Web Mall. Morgoth has been spending hours on adding more and more to this section of our site. Since Alkyion is on vacation (probably on some beautiful island in the middle of the ocean) Reeds is taking care of all the responsibilities connected with our French community, so please be nice to him as recently he has been working for two. Sometimes we can hardly see him through all those empty red bull cans. That's about all for this week’s GM Update... Oh, wait. You might also be interested in the fact we now have a brand new anti-goldseller process. We should start seeing its effect in-game from today on! Weekly GM Update - 30/10/2015

Didn’t you get the memo? The Hunt is definitely ON! This week, we entered the hotly anticipated Open Beta! Meaning there will be no more server wipes, so you can play at will! 

We were able to fix some of the bugs reported during the Closed Beta, and made a few changes based on player’s feedback. For instance, the auto-path is back, and the sparkling path is more visible. On the GM side, we had a series of test to perform on the game before it went live. Therefore, the first part of the week was mostly focused on QA. When the game launched on Wednesday, we were on the lookout for any potential issues! 

We were in the Shoutbox and in-game to talk to the players who were kind enough to report the problems they had encountered. This allowed us to quickly establish a process for the players whose Founder character were unfortunately not saved. To learn more about it, check the Useful Links below. On a side note, tomorrow is Halloween! We added Halloween costumes in the Falcon’s Fortune today, check them out, they’re scarily kawaii! Weekly GM Update - 23/10/2015

RIP Beta Keys

We are getting closer and closer to Open Beta, and have entered the Stress Test phase!

What is a Stress Test?

“Stress testing is a form of deliberately intense or thorough testing used to determine the stability of a given system or entity. It involves testing beyond normal operational capacity, often to a breaking point, in order to observe the results” (thanks, Wikipedia!)

For DMH, it just means that the game is now open to everyone - you don’t need a beta key anymore) - because we want to test servers capability, and how they react. 

This is very useful for the future, as this will help us to prevent crashes or lag. Therefore, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you encounter any issues!

What have the GMs been doing?

This week was special, as we still had to deal with a lot of tickets, and tried to spend as much time with the community as possible. We took your feedback into consideration, and opened a poll about the “auto-path” feature. We're working with the developers to find the best solution! 

Now, some of you have noticed that the Word filter can be a little bit too picky (legend has it that one cannot name their character “Bacon”…), well we need you to help us improve that! Please take some time to chat in-game, take some note on how the word filter behaves, and head over to the forum thread to tell us about your findings!

It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.

Hoppalongs are companions who will fight beside you through thick and thin, their witty one liners and dynamic attitude will make the pair of you a dynamic duo that other hunters will think twice about messing with.

It all starts in character creation, where after setting a little time in the salon for yourself, you’ll move onto your Hoppalong. You can customize the ears, fur colour and eyes of your Hoppalong to give them a unique feel. Finish them with a name and you’re set!

Whilst you’ll be going solo for your first few missions, your companion will rejoin you on the ‘Do you wanna make a contract’ quest-line. From this point onward, they’ll be almost always by your side (except in the arena).

The first specialization your Hoppalong unlocks is the Cleaver, it’s an axe wielding DPS class. Throughout your journey, you’ll find primers that unlock new specializations and power up your existing ones. This allows Hoppalongs to bolster your strengths or buffer your weaknesses, Hoppalong specializations range from those that arm traps to some that heal you in combat.

Levelling up a specialization increases your Hoppalongs stats and makes their skills more powerful, so it’s worth taking a little time out hunting to scour the the world for those primers.

GM Weekly Update - 16/10/2015

The Hunt is SO on! 

Here we are, Closed Beta Launch took place yesterday! Are you as excited as we are? 

Above: the DMH team, being excited! This was once again a very busy week for us, as we had to run the very last tests on the Live Server before releasing it in the wild. This does not mean that we had to re-test every single features of the game, but we had to make sure that key features such as PvP or the Ranch were operational, as well as a lot of different other general tests. 

Morgoth and Nerion made sure that we would not forget any of these key tests. Reeds helped prepare all the news, and the processes we need as the game goes live. Joka prepared a lot of different things, to ensure that we are ready to reply to all the tickets (and can be confident doing so!) On my side, I was interacting with the community a lot, especially on Launch day where I tried to answer all the questions on the Shoutbox! I would actually like to thank the community for their help, it’s always great to see players helping each other. Keep at it!   Some of you might have joined us for the in-game Welcome event yesterday, where we showed off some ridiculously big Battle mounts, and gave away some goodies (someone say fireworks?).

Morgoth

A little orphan with no past found in the ancient city of Ilya, in the far far country of Saphael, from a Sprite named Yobelia... raised and trained in the dark arts... This is the story of Morgoth, the dark magician. Attracted by the legend of the mighty Dragomons, and the power they seems to hide, Morgoth decided to explore the neverending world of Wyveria... and catch them all of course! Luring his enemies in an endless sleep with the melody of his horn and finishing them off with wild fire from his staff is his favourite way to kill! Legends tell that Morgoth took up residence in the capital Elysium... will you be able to face him?

Megane

A curious child, Megane wandered away from her family home and into the Marsh Abyss as a toddler.  She was discovered and raised by a friendly group of Fen Croakers who mistook her blue hair for the blue markings on their bodies.  Although the strange properties of the marsh caused her to grow a pair of horns, she passed many happy hours defending her froggy friends by chasing hunters off with her hammer.  Eventually, however, she was defeated and taken to Elysium, where she learned that she wasn't actually a Dragomon.  Deciding to put her hammer skills to use, she joined the Falcons and although she refuses to hunt any Fen Croakers she knows personally, she's become one of their most powerful clerics.

Joka

Raised be the family of the mysterious Ventarian Blacksmith. Trained from the early age in the secluded waterfall of the Everfrost Berg Land. Owing to the unique conditions of that soil he quickly turned into slaying machine immune to pain and fear. With the help of the ancient masters of swordplay he quickly became one of the finest swordsman in the West. Having decided to expand his martial skills, he ventured to the North, to master his second lethal blade: the Battleaxe. Don't let yourself be deceived by his friendly smile and dignified manners. He will use all the evil tricks he knows and all the power he has to bring his opponent to "surrender" at any cost.

Weekly GM Update - 09/10/2015

Hello Future Hunters! Let's start this weekly update with a Video (that voice talent *Q*)! Less than one week until Closed Beta! Are you hyped? Let's dive in to what happened during this week and what your GM team has been up to: Reeds took care of refining our website and some of the last QA tasks. A small note about him... if you saw the live stream, you can guess his expression whilst working on QA!! Megane was involved in a huge PvP test (I will tell you more about it later!) than she flew away for some well deserved rest! C ya soon Meg :3 Alkyon and Nerion have checked some of the open bugs regressions, so basically they took care to regress all the bugs already reported and make sure they've been fixed. Joka was involved in the bug regression process, plus he helped finish the interviews for the English Forum Mods. I know what you're asking... the answer is YES, I made him wear a Suit too! I told you already how much I love PvP!! To indulge my killing spirit I involved all the GMs + the Localization QA team in a huge PvP face off!! We were able to test all of it and make sure everything is working fine... In the end I had to buy a new suit Remember: never go into the arena without proper dress. As a final update I can tell you that all of us are testing right now the Live server! The one you’ll access in 6 days, if you redeemed a Beta Key!
