I open the netflix app to put something on while I work. Netflix remains silent and plays nothing while I do my styling meticulously for hours. Sometimes I want the mental stimulation of listening and casually watching something but I never get around to it.

It’s the color of dying grass, it’s named after a fruit. People tend to think it’s too vivid. It’s actually considered a cool tone despite being mixed from a warm tone and a cold told. Seeing it in a traffic light means you can now start moving your vehicle. It’s one of the things you miss the most in winter, but get sick of by the end of summer. You like it in your tequilas. People tell me it’s similar to a booger, but I think that just means you need to be seen by a doctor. Frogs wear it in their skin; some cats have it in their eyes.

It’s algae in ponds in summer. It’s swampy, it’s lively. It’s the reflective glare of the polarization in my glasses.

Genuine fear that someone goes through this blog one day and starts reblogging stuff. Like. Most stuff I put on here is ranty, stupid, or begnin. Also sometimes I make really crappy jokes that make me laugh in the moment but are detestably cringe and. I make no excuses for any of it. It's here. Open to the public.

People can get so long winded with their ideas. They can expound for hours and hours on a concept and get delicious with it. Yet. Here I am. Head empty. Thoughts mild and tender.

I can't think. Nope. Can't write either.

Cups, cats, owl enthusiasm, rants. Today has been a treat. This blog might also get a few notes about animal crossing because it's a writing oriented thing while the ac blog is about aesthetic.

Sometimes, I try my best to give off a specific type of vibe. That vibe is specifically a feral sort of "I have been traumatized in so many ways and I genuinely no longer give a fuck. If you fuck with me I will break your existence and not even think twice about it."

In reality I think that makes me either come across as weird kid vibes, just plain rude and assholeish. However it does accomplish the goal of nobody fucking with me so it works.

Criminal offence

I don’t have any cutesy little things to babble about for catharsis. Being an adult has actively sucked for at least the last little while (note to self: when has it actively *not sucked* as opposed to chose to be actively benign for a little while. Start there and think about that for a little bit later on) so I need to write myself some serious, ranty mess for a little bit to leave out all these broken pieces to somehow put back together again to run a system restore on my tired little brain.

I almost lost my healthcare today. Or at least that is what the notice that I got in the mail like last week said. However, I’ve been so fucking busy with work that I didn’t get to it til Today. I’ve not made the progress I’ve wanted to with both my mental and physical health this year. and it would have been a sign if my healthcare coverage got swept out from beneath my feet when I needed it the most. I mean it wouldn’t be the first time that something like that happened. The last time it happened it had been during such a traumatic time for me too. I am fully aware that people don’t understand what’s going on inside my head when it comes to me reliving my trauma. But is it so bad of me to wish that they could, for a few seconds, attempt to see things from my perspective?

I can be so patient with other people. I spend so much time trying my best to be respectful towards them. However, absolutely none of that gets returned when I need understanding and patience and. It can be genuinely draining and frustrating.

The new couch is a success; and she's so happy to be on it.

at least one cryptid definitely does exist in the sense that it was an actual creature who encountered and really freaked out a couple of humans- Mothman!

it was a barred owl.

see, owls have a really bright eyeshine at night, and in a really unusual color- blood red.

and barred owls have the brightest eyeshine of them all- so bright you could swear you were looking at the oncoming headlights of the Hellfire Express!

at close range, the eyeshine of a barred owl would be almost blinding- like shining a bright flashlight directly into those bicycle spoke reflector things. like this:

and wouldn’t you know it, barred owls are found in the areas where Mothman was first sighted.

so what presumably happened was that several people had very close encounters with one or several barred owls, and the red hellfire glare of the owl was so bright that it made the owl’s eyes look the size of fucking softballs!

and since it was night and the owl was moving the shape of it was too indistinct to make out, so the humans’ brains extrapolated a body outline for this unknown creature that was MUCH bigger than the owl actually was! it’s also stupid difficult to judge distances in the sky at night so they may have thought the owl was further away when it was almost on top of them. and HEY PRESTO, A LEGEND WAS BORN.

but this doesn’t mean that Mothman was never real, quite the contrary! Mothman is real in the only place that matters,,,, in our hearts

support owl conservation efforts in your local area though, and you may someday see a Mothman of your own!

No disrespect to OP's post, adding this to my chitchat blog w/ notes and anecdotes for myself for use later!

Anyway, barred owls are so fucking cute at night! We have a mating pair in the woods outside the house. One used to watch me as I slept in the silver maple tree outside my room. Unfortunately the silver maple had to get cut this year because it was rotting (leeching water out of our sewer line poisoned it oof) so. No more being watched at night by ominous red eyes from hell.

But what's truly terrifying at night is Barn owls. Not only does their "hoot" (they do NOT HOOT, THEY SCREECH) sound like a creature summoned straight from the depths of hell. They're also BULLIES. AND THEY BULLY OTHER OWLS.

100% convinced a mating pair of Barns killed the one of the barreds owl from that pair. I only ever hear one now... and it's rare because it got ran off. However you can hear SATAN'S SCREECH at night, near nightly. ; . ;

Because it's November and it's hootin' season, parliment is in session, and mostly at night it sounds like a spooky movie set with the traditional hoots of Great Horned Owls.

Anyway I've noticed besides certain pairs that roost in trees, owls do be having ranges. You'll see the same birds, but not all the time. It could be a few months between sightings... or in my cases, hearings.

But to tie this into the post so it's not just me gushing about owls... I don't even live in Appalachia, just close enough to it. And there are SO MANY creatures that if you are not used to seeing them can be hyped up as what they're not.

Living in the woods is SPOOKY if you don't understand what's going on around you.
