“I can’t.”

Kami blinked down at him. “It hurts.” His breath caught in his throat. It shouldn’t have. He was dead. It shouldn’t matter. “Why does it still hurt? My chest hurts.”

Kami’s craggy face softened and he knelt beside him. His eyes crinkled and brows tilted ever so slightly upwards. Piccolo stared at him through blurry, burning eyes.

“My dear boy, that’s love. What you’re feeling, it’s love.”
