RHAENYRA TARGARYEN Ā GOTās HOUSE OF THE DRAGON 1.03Ā Second of His Name
Rhaenyra spotting the white stag and sparing its life; Viserys killing a false stag to fulfill the expectations of his lords.
Rhaenyra stabbing the boar to death with the ferocity of a dragon ; Viserys struggling to kill a stag with the support of an entire posse.
Rhaenyra proving herself a Queen worthy of the Seven Kingdoms and being utterly ignored ; Viserys being lauded and praised despite being an utter embarrassment.
I have so many FEELINGS.

I lost my best friend today. I havenāt stopped crying. I collapsed to the floor at work when I heard the news. Thereās so much I want to say but Iām currently very, very broken and distraught. Breathing is hard. Tears are streaming down my face that I canāt control. I got sent home from work early and passed out when I got home. I hoped that when I would wake up that it would all have been a nightmare, but here we are. I was supposed to be fulfilling my #1 item on my bucket list in ten days: meet linkin park. The first time I saw them was August 27th 2007 and it changed my life, actually. I was finally going to be able to tell them how I would not be here today if it werenāt for them. And thatās no exaggeration. They were/they are my everything. My favorite band since I was 8 years old. Chester has been my hero since I was 8 goddamn years old. My first tattoo was dedicated to them, lyrics that are from a song Chester wrote to his kids. I took guitar lessons as a kid for only a week or two, just so I could learn the chords to āFaintā and feel cool for a minute of my shy, dorky life. LP was one of the only music I was even allowed to listen to during a very critical and traumatizing time of my life. I spent roughly a thousand dollars to go see them twice and meet them within the coming weeks, and tbh, no amount of money coming back to me now will ever makeup for it. Itās not just a band, itās not just music, theyāve been my lifeline. And Chester was the brother I never had, my mentor, he was my best friend. I canāt explain how deeply this is affecting me and I canāt imagine how itās affecting his family and loved ones. The one thing I am happy about in this moment is that the very last time I saw Chester in person, it was August 16th, 2014. During the last song he came down and shook fans hands, took photos with everyone in the front row, etc. when he got to me I was sobbing and he gave me the biggest hug, and I didnāt know what to do, so I right in his ear I said āthank you for everything.ā He put his hand on the back of my head into his shoulder and said āno, thank you.ā He smiled at me, and walked off. (Picture above is moments before that happened) I may not have officially met him, and canāt believe that I never will in this life, but deep in my heart Iāll have comfort telling myself that he knows. How important he was/is to me and everyone who listened to LP, his family, friends, everyone. I donāt know how to handle this tbh and thank you to everyone who has reached out and thought of me, that means a lot. I donāt even know if any of this makes sense. All I know is, I miss you Chester. And Iāll be thinking of you every single day until I see you on the other side.

Linkin Park & Me
If youāve ever gotten to know me, you know that Iām a Linkin Park fan. Like a really, really, REALLY big Linkin Park fan. Iāve never been one to stan too hard over anything, but Iām a Linkin Park stan. For a long time, Linkin Park has been more than just a favorite band, theyāve been a crucial part of my identity since I was thirteen.
I donāt remember when exactly I first heard of Linkin Park. It was at the end of the seventh grade. The name intrigued me, but I wasnāt really into heavy metal. I remember seeing the video forĀ āOne Step Closerā on the wall of TVS at Wet Seal, and being shocked at how much I liked it. Then summer came along. I was watching MTV during a stretch of videos in the middle of the day, and the video forĀ āCrawlingā came on. I sat with my jaw open throughout the whole thing. It was utterly rapturous. Beautiful. The most incredible thing I had ever, ever, ever heard.Ā
At the time, the biggest music act in the world around me was Britney Spears, whose hyper-sexualized little girl act revolted me (the older, more mature well-versed in feminism me still finds the act revolting, but with a more nuanced understanding of female sexuality and the male gaze). With the notion ingrained in my head that being a typical teenage girl meant tiny clothing, suggestive lyrics, and lots of belly-wiggling and hip thrusting, being aĀ āfreakā was a refuge. I wasnāt here to shake my ass and coyly tell the world that I was a virgin. I was a chubby girl who was never going to look like Britney, and being aĀ āfreakā was how I asserted that I had more to offer than just sexy flesh.
I got emo glasses that were just like Chesterās, thick black, rectangular glasses that Iāve worn ever since. I bought a new wardrobe at Hot Topic. I hung out with a bunch of other āfreaksā who adored Linkin Park. On the morning of 9/11, I remember having an argument with my friends over what happened in theĀ āCrawlingā video. I listened to Hybrid Theory on the bus ride home every day. I listened to it falling asleep. I made my first serious attempt at writing something.Ā
Thatās the other part of my identity, Iām a writer. A writer and a Linkin Park fan, those are the two intractable parts of who I am and who I want to be that stays the same through everything and around which everything else is built. Everything, every poem, every blog post, every novel, every script, EVERYTHING, I write with the intention of being as good as Linkin Parkās music is. Thatās always been my highest ambition, to write something that makes someone else feel like I feel when I listen to Linkin Park. I donāt know if Iāve achieved that goal yet, but I still want to.
Iāve struggled with teen angst, ADD, and depression, and Linkin Park helped give voice to all of that. In a vast, dark sea of love songs, sex songs, and songs about money, drugs, and riches, songs about emotions and experiences rife with darkness was something I could relate to. I sometimes joke about todayās pop musicās lack of angst, āWhat do kids these days listen to when they want to *feel* something?āĀ
I always wanted to meet Chester Bennington, but, now Iāll have to accept the fact that I never will. It fucking hurts. But I can still say what Iād hoped to say to him: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. For being so unique, for writing such incredible music, for being in my life. From the deepest part of my soul, thank you for existing.
destroy the stigma around men having mental illnesses. it doesnāt make you less masculine, strong, less of a āmanā, it makes you HUMAN
"Who cares if one more light goes out in the sky of a million stars? ⦠I do."
I lost my hero today. I feel like Iāve lost a part of my soul.
I was 15 when I first found out about Linkin Park. They were the first band I fell in love with that werenāt from my country yet made me feel like I needed to go through all their records. And so I did. Chesterās voice represented so much that I could not put in words. But I needed to understand his words too. Without the translations. This made me pay attention to my English classes. I owe my first attempts of learning how to speak English to him and his band.
I have turned to Linkin Parkās music for every emotion I have ever felt. Their music has touched me. Chesterās powerful voice has guided me through hard times and it was with me when I was feeling on top of the world too.
Chester was my first music idol. I literally grew up listening to Linkin Park.
Itās devastating how one can save millions but millions can not save the one. Youāre always going to be my legend. Youāve had an impact on millions, Ches. You will live on in your music. May your voice and Linkin Park never leave our hearts š„
Rest In Peace, Chester Bennington. March 20, 1976 - July 20, 2017
He saved us all, but he couldnāt save himself. I just miss him so much already.
