Today was easy.
I noticed that I ate more often than 6 times but for a lot less calories than 300. Tomorrow I go back to work so I should be more regular then.

Starting a new diet for the new year
A lot happened last year. My kid started to really interfere with my life, I got a new job, and I moved our family across the US. Literally from the East to West coast. And so, I gained back the 20 I lost. Luckily it is much easier and more fun to diet and lose weight in California. So I am starting a new diet program I have cobbled together from various sources. My diet is based on math and being healthy. Eat less calories than I put out, drink lots of water, no fried foods.
The Goals:
Lose 60 pounds in 6 months.
Run 5k again, go for 10.
Get stronger
The Plan:
Month 1: Shock diet with minimal exercise
Month 2: Shock diet with minimal exercise + some jogging
Month 3: Shock diet with moderate exercise + some jogging
Month 4: Shock diet with moderate exercise + frequent jogging
Month 5: Shock diet with frequent exercise + frequent jogging
Month 6: Shock diet with frequent exercise + frequent jogging
Month 1: Shock diet with minimal exercise.
Rules for month 1:
Track all of my food.
1800 calories per day spread over 6 meals eaten every 3 hours. (ex. 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm)
No fried foods, no highly processed foods.
No meat (eggs and fish are OK), minimal bread, and minimal sugar.
I now only drink one cup of coffee in the morning and water (no additives).
Diet must be balanced daily on protein despite not eating meat.
I may add to these rules later, but this is the basic plan. I've done the vegetarian thing before and felt great. Mathematically 1800 calories per day with no exercise is an extreme weight loss rate. The rest of the rules is about being healthy and avoiding temptation.
If nothing else, I will stick with this crazy diet for one month just for shits and giggles to see what happens. :-P
:D
They look like 70's furniture. My mom had a wicker chair that looks just like hat girl.
Bleeehhhh
UGH, Alabama sucks. I went running today through air that could most easily be described as soup. It was a aromatic soup of mostly water filled with the stink of flower and rotting fish with just a dash of oxygen. It's served extremely hot.
The problem is that this soup is meant to be inhaled rather than just eaten. Which just doesn't work.

Finally went running again. BLEH! I only ran about 2.5k, but it's a start.
Still 230, so I haven't really gained much. Next goal is just to get to 220. That's all I care about right now.
Back in the saddle
Went running today. Was ok, went fast while running, but I'm way out of shape now. Going for it this week to get back in the game.
Work is kicking my ass
I wish I could run/workout, instead I am working just constantly. Tomorrow is my weigh in day for month 2 and I haven't lost any weight at all! :(
First run after break.
Just ran about 2k. I think I'm healed from the pulled muscle, but I didn't want to push it. I'm still 225, though I don't know why or how. I guess portions really weren't as bad as I thought they were!
Starting up again soon.
Work has been really bad recently and I haven't had any time to do much of anything. I should be staring up again soon, but "crunch time" apparently goes on until the 15th of of next month.
Nostalgia :) (Taken with instagram)

Today is already an amazing day for me and it's only 8AM!!!! I tried to take what I learned about my stride from my last run and push as hard as I could do do that faster stride the whole run. It was very very hard, but I pushed through the full 5k at that faster pace. I came in at a sub 34 minute 5k with an average speed of about 6:45 per kilometer!!!! That's one minute and 10 seconds FASTER than my average from Monday!!
I'M SO HAPPY, I'M BELOW SEVEN MINUTE K!!!! That was one of my big goals for this month. I'm giving myself another full month to shave the last 4 minutes from my dream 30 minute 5k time. Only ~10% faster!
Stopping Body For Life has had a very positive impact on my running. Today I broke all my records by modifying my stride to run faster. I ran the same ~45 minutes, but I went 6k instead of barely 5. My fastest K was my last at 6'50", and my fastest 5k from these splits was about 35 minutes. I think if I concentrate more on my stride technique, I can get the 5k down to 30 minutes in a week or so. But we'll see! I'm wiped out right now and super happy with how far I've come in the last three months. :D
So this was my final net calories consumed last week. I was aiming for 8400 calories under and I surpassed that goal by a few. The low days were heavy activity days, the green bars subtract calories burned, I tracked EVERYTHING I ate all week. The red line is how many calories I would consume to maintain my weight. Let me say, I’m pretty disappointed there was no progress on the scale, because I worked my ass off. 212lbs at the start of last week and 212lbs at the end. Crap. :(
This week I vow to be a more faithful water drinker because I know I’m not drinking nearly enough! I’m going to continue to track every lick, bite and taste faithfully. Maybe I should eat more on active days, that was a hell of a lot of work for seemingly no result.
Nom Nom
224 LBS!!!!!!
Just ran a 5K this morning again. I apparently have found my pace at around 7:50 per k, pretty flat. I'm not very happy about that, but I'm getting the 5ks that I wanted done and the weight it coming off. I really want to be down in the 7:30s next week, and to do that I think I need to do some research on proper stride. I have short little legs with a 28 pant length, so I need to work hard to get down to 7:00 K before the end of the month!
I planned this!!! Really!!! (not really)
So do you still dig that hamburger?
Great image. My wife and I try to cook for about $1.50 and 300 calories per serving. That's 150 cal per dollar, but if we ate out it would easily cost 6 or 7 per serving which is more like 50 calories per dollar. :-P
