NEW UPDATED UMEKO IORI REFERENCE SHEET!!!!
Featuring: A soft Redesign!
This has taken me FOREVER!!! I’m planning on drawing her seasonal outfits…but I decided to do that a different day. My brain is mush, I need to work on a reference for her persona as well. I can’t believe how much this Jundori fan kid I made has grown on me. She’s my precious baby.
I’m going to a convention in 2 weeks, so I’m thinking of finding an artist to commission there.
No tags since it’s a WIP. But I’m working on a new ref sheet/ slight redesign of Umeko. Posting this here to hopefully motivate me to actually finish this. Reference pages are so much workkkkk
Jundori on the brain
On one social network, subscribers chose to continue the Russian AU, so here's a reference to Yukari-Yulia.
P.S.: Русскоязычные ребята, я вас вижу, для вас буду теперь с оригинальным текстом выкладывать тоже :D

Flowers
Her skin was a porcelain teacup left next to an unsealed window midwinter. She pressed back against his summer arms when he delicately caressed her. The warmth of his presence thawed the everlasting chill of her bones— it often reminded her of the clock on the wall. The rhythm clouded her mind and synced with her heartbeat. The heartbeat that fell out of pattern all those months ago.
She remembered the flowers. They appeared in all her sketches and paintings. The print they left on her lungs mirrored in the print she left in every picture she envisioned. A watermark many call it, a reminder she calls it. A reminder of the pale nights and dull breaths. A reminder of the sun that never stopped shining on her. A reminder of what it took for her to feel his warm breeze and gentle wisps once more.
So she breathes this time— whether it’s her intention or not. She breathes for the window to be sealed and steaming camomile to be poured into her chest. She breathes for spring and summer and autumn all over again. She breathes to be here, in the cast of the morning dawn with the thaw of her bones still fresh.
Ive got commissions open on my Ko-fi if y'all are interested! Got plenty of slots open so check it out!

The keys slipped from his trembling fingers, thudding dully against something that was definitely not a concrete floor. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end. Instinctively, Junpei took a step back. Then another. His spine met the cold metal of the elevator doors. Turning slowly, he saw nothing — no welcoming glow of the call button, no display showing the floor where the elevator was supposed to be. It felt as though someone had simply switched off his sight. Everywhere his gaze fell, there was only darkness. Absolute. Frightening. Alien.
"I’ve broken reality," shot through Junpei’s mind in a panic. "I’ve broken goddamn reality!" He drew a sharp breath and nearly coughed from the heaviness of the air. The smell was strange, too — sort of... musty? The kind you get in unventilated rooms or in cars left standing in the baking sun for too long. Only here, the smell seemed a hundred years old. There was no sense of moving air — everything was static, as if frozen in time and space.
Snapping out of his stupor, Junpei jolted and began pounding blindly on the elevator doors.
"Hey! People! Anyone!" he yelled. "Let me out of here!!!"
But only silence answered him. Even the sound of his blows rang strangely muffled, though, by all logic, the whole building should have heard them. It belatedly dawned on Junpei that this place had no echo — the kind you would expect in an empty hallway. What the hell was going on?

Finals were this week, worked 2 full double shifts, and helped a friend move. Tomorrow I have ANOTHER double to wrap up my week. Hopefully my main job lets me go full time so I don’t have to work 11-12 hours a day several times a week to get those full time hours. I utterly despise my second job, get me out of that hell! This weekend I’m gonna be SLEEPING that’s for damn sure. Who knows I might actually make something creative but we’ll just have to see (Somebody’s persona desperately needs a reference sheet. I actually doodled them today at my second job. They mean just as much to me as their…person? What would a persona call the person they are attached too?? I don’t know)
No tags cause I’m just yapping
Umeko in the style of that one figure that was announced a few months ago
My art block is so so so bad and I’m so unmotivated, I went back and finished this from a few months ago 😭😭
This has been in my drafts forever. I thought that I’d go ahead and share these head canons. I’ve wanted to write a fic about this for awhile, but don’t have the motivation to. Also this is incredibly sad and angsty
CW: Alcohol Abuse, Child Abuse, Child Neglect & Suicide.
Thinking about Junpei and his relationship with his dad.
A lot of people are quick to paint his dad as completely evil- which, is a fair interpretation. However, I like to interpret him as more nuanced.
He doesn’t hate Junpei, far from it. He loves him more than he loves life itself. No matter how distant and angry he becomes, Junpei will always be his baby boy. That love is clouded by anger, hate for the world and his own life.
When Junpei was born, Iori sobbed his eyes out- the first time he had cried since he was a kid himself. He’d stare at his little face for hours, utterly baffled on how he managed to make something so innocent…so perfect.
His alcohol abuse started slow. Junpei was around 6 months old, and going through a sleep regression. Previously he’d sleep through the night just fine. But now, he woke up every hour or so, sobbing his little eyes out for one reason or another. Iori and his partner were completely exhausted, and utterly at their whitts end. Junpei’s mom was a housewife, so she stayed home with him all day while Iori worked long days to support his family. I like the idea that he’s blue collar, working in construction. So both of them constantly worked in one way or another, never getting a break.
So, one day after work, Iori decided to hit up a couple of bars with his coworkers. Just something to take the edge off.
A few drinks grew into too many, one night drinking with coworkers turned into every night. He couldn’t stop, and it was destroying his family.
It happened over the course of a few months. He went from only drinking out at bars to drinking at home. He grew impatient and aggressive when drunk, which devolved into violence
Junpei’s mother took the brunt of it, always taking any hits that could have been directed to her son. Junpei often witnessed these attacks- as soon as he could walk he’d hide in cabinets and under tables. When his dad didn’t drink, Junpei didn’t mind being around him…but there was always that lingering fear.
The alcohol abuse only got worse and worse. Eventually, Junpei's mother couldn't take it anymore, and committed suicide when Junpei was around 3-years-old.
They are both utterly devastated. Junpei is still so little, he can’t wrap his head around the whole situation. He’s confused and scared, he doesn’t understand why his mother isn’t there anymore. She was his safe space, and she’s not there anymore. Following his mother’s death, Junpei stayed a few days at his grandparents house, specifically his dad’s parents. His father stayed at home drinking, an absolute mess.
When he showed up to bring Junpei home- he was drunk. He wasn’t violent, just bumbling and crying, getting level with his toddler and hugging him close. Junpei didn’t run or hide, he just accepted his father’s attention. His grandparents, however, were incredibly concerned. They knew their son was struggling, but didn’t want their grand son to be around their son while he was drunk. They didn’t know about the abuse. They made him stay and sober up, before letting them go home.
The agreement was that Iori would bring Junpei to his parents house while he worked. It started fine. Junpei was very sensitive, but they just assumed it was from the grief and confusion of loosing his mother. It wasn’t until he started being dropped off with bruises and scrapes, flinching when they went to pick him up that they realized something was very wrong. Their son was visibly drunk when coming to pick him up, and even drop him off several times. Junpei was nervous, acting up in tantrums over having to go home- they knew that something had to change. They threatened to take custody of Junpei. His father was furious. The argument leading to him permanently cutting his parents off, and moving. Junpei lost his only other safe space. He tried to send Junpei to a nursery school, but it wasn’t long before they started to notice the bruises as well. Another move. Iori had a severe work accident around this time, permanently altering his spine. He wasn’t able to work, getting on disability payments. This meant that he was home with Junpei 24/7 till he started school.
He wasn’t awful all the time- he’d take Junpei to the park, read him bedtime stories, comfort him after a nightmare and such. They’d bond watching baseball together. He’s the one that encouraged Junpei to go into Little League, and sometimes showed up to his games. But then he’d go on a bender, grow violent. He’d neglect Junpei’s needs. Junpei would fall sleep hungry in dirty pajamas on unwashed sheets. Sometimes, Iori wouldn’t come home for days at a time, leaving Junpei completely alone.
Junpei didn’t try to fight back till he was much older. Even then, he just took the abuse most of the time. The reason they moved to Iwatodai was because their house was condemned. Described as unlivable by the prefecture.
He didn’t want Junpei to move into the dorm. He screamed at him, became violent, everything. But, that didn’t change anything.
He loves his son, and Junpei loves his dad.
But he never goes back.
Jundori Ponies!!!
I posted Chidori alone the other day- but ended up deleting it. Now! It’s da whole group! Oh and ofc below this is Umeko lmao. I love her sm
The other day while driving home, I saw someone with a Makoto and Chidori Cut in car bumper stickers. They were super faded and art from the original game, so it seems like they have been on there for a long time.
Anyways, this person was driving like a fucking idiot.
New headcanon: Chidori is a bad driver (Makoto would be too,but he’s kind of dead so)
